Callaway hex chrome or Srixon Z-star SL?

My swing speed is 91mph and my handicap is 12. Wedge/short iron spin is much more important to me than driver distance. Which of these balls will stop and check better with a full wedge shot?

I'm close to the same HDCP and swing speed and have played both. For me the Chrome spun way more around the green. Too much more actually. I really like and prefer the SL but just watch, I'll be in the minority here.

OH and just when I thought my search for a fave ball was over, Srixon has decided to stop making the SL. Gonna stock up while I can.

Anyone ever played the yellow SL balls?

I have been playing the SL for most of the year. I have not played the Chrome just because I have a pretty good hoard of balls built up. A ball that is equivalent with the SL, for me, is the Bridgestone RXS. This is a great ball, however, is very rarely on sale.

I play the yellow SL and white hex chrome, and white hex chrome plus. I'm an average player with ~105 mph SS with a driver.

I have noticed for me that the SL's are going slightly further than the chrome and + on iron shots. Off the tee shots, they're going about the same. I don't know if it's just me and my inconsistency, but I feel like the chrome and chrome+ stop very close to my pitch marks on the greens. I even get some backspin with them. The SL's stop close and don't roll out on me much at all. I just notice that the chromes stick a little better for me. Just my observation.

I like both balls and would get more SL's if they weren't being discontinued. But since they are, I'll try the regular 2013 Z-star's and see how they work. I'm liking the chrome+'s better than the regular chromes though.
