Titleist 735 cm

I saw the 735.CM's at the Fedex St. Jude. They looked great, and I even a black nickel set floating around.

 

Holy cow, a black nickel set of 735's would be the best looking irons ever. I can only imagine about what they look like.

Ohh yeah they looked awesome. ( I saw them in the Tour Van; no initials or anything like that) Hopefully Titleist will release them in the coming weeks.

Black nickel 735s... Those sound incredible. I love the look of the black irons. The shinny black mp-33s pic. @ TSG r one of my fav. looking irons of all time.

black nickel would look cool, but i have a couple of black nickel vokey wedges and the black wears of very fast leaving a satin finish. It was unexpected at first but they still look great.

I'd rather have have the durability of the satin 704 type look with the feel of chromed carbon. I don't think it's possible because soft carbon must be chromed from what I've read while stainless steel can have that satin look.

It is possible and if you look you'll see examples - have you ever seen the satin lehmans? There are irons out there (with many being tour issue) that are satin finished carbon steel forged. Best 735 set in my opinion would be carbon steel in a satin finish like that found on the spin milled wedges. That would be right up there with the satin lehmans in my book. I've never been a real fan of black as it shows wear instantly. #1 on my wishlist is a satin set of carbon steel 735s!

how come some of those have the anvils on them while others don't? is like prototypes or something?

I'm glad to hear that it is possible. Aren't the vokey wedges cast though? That's what the Titleist website states. Casting allows bob v. to try many new designs faster than waiting for a forged to be pounded out. BUT i do agree totally... satin, soft mild carbon forged 735s released as soon as possible!!! :busted_cop:

You won't see any Black Nickel 735's. :busted_cop: In fact the Black Nickel finish in the Vokey will be discontinued at the end of this season.

I have a couple of black nickel vokeys and once they wear the finish looks like the new tour satin on the spin milled vokeys. I like the finish but it almost seems misleading to have a finish that rubs off with a wet towel.

 

Anything new on the 735 release date?

Early August or September? Also I wonder if the carbon chromed version will be available as soon as the stainless steel version is released, or will there be some delay? thanks :busted_cop:

Spoke with my Titleist rep yesterday, he said they will be available first week in August.

Awesomes news. It seems like the release date is solidifying for early August!! Now I wonder if I should start bugging my local store to get ready for my order real soon. I dont want to hear that there's a back order and it'll take 2 months to fill it. I've been waiting for new irons since January... this is assuming I even like the 735 as far as feel.

 

Also anyone know anything more about the carbon version?? any details??
