20XI-S review

Hey guys,

Here's my review of the 20XI-S (2012 edition). I thought I'd write a review for those of you on the fence about whether or not to buy it at a reduced price. This is my first review so bear with me!

 

Driver: 8/10

The feel off the driver isn't that great, and it makes the sound that you'd expect a Top Flite to make, but it delivers solid distance. I gained 15 yards just by hitting this ball off the tee. Its more suited for a 105mph+ SS though, I had my friend try it (SS 95mph) and he actually lost yardage with the ball. It also generates a lot less spin than I imagined. I was hitting it horribly today and I only managed to go off line (fade) by about 10 yards give or take. I'll give it a 8/10 for the distance gained as it is quite amazing.

 

Irons: 4/10

Again, the feel off the irons isn't great either. It just gives the feel of a rock hard Top Flite XL. Though it does provide some nice spin as my iron shots were stopping within maybe 3-5ft of their pitch mark. Nothing really spectacular here, just a pretty average ball.

 

Wedges: 9/10

Ok, so you already know I'm going to say that the feel pretty much sucks, but holy smokes does the spin make up for it. Wow this ball just left me speechless at the first chip/pitch that I hit. Really amazing.

 

Putter: 3/10

Obviously the feel sucks. There's always that one occasional shot that you catch nicely and it feels maybe like a NXT-Tour, but even then it still pretty much sucks. I gave it a 3/10 purely based on the fact that it holds its line really nicely when you putt.

 

Durability: 11/10

This ball has unparalleled durability. I played the same ball for the entire round and the only reason it scratched was because I hit it poorly into the tree.

 

 

Overall I thought it was a pretty good ball. I'll play these for as long as I have em. If you're on the fence about buying these at a reduced price, do it. I got mine for about ~$30 off the original price. (Not saying where) Its a fantastic deal if you're getting them at around $25-30.

2013 20xi's are now $30 a dz. and it's a better ball. You need to give it a try.
