title says it all! I have looked at all the current options in store but do not have the option to hit any. And does the face laser milling actually a benefit or is that snake oil? thanks

The new Wilson traction control wedges are amazingly spinny. Maybe the most of any recent wedge offering I have tried.

bought 58/64 callys to just have cause so cheap...I use 64, 58 just have it laying around...use it eventually

they were new in wrapper next to new MD2 ones....

and yeah no joke...first full shot ripped my prov to shreds....so bought bunch of nxt tours to tone em down bit....5-10 rounds and few range sesh's and they are better...

I am not opposed to older non conforming wedges. Any other suggestions?

I'm lovin my Mizuno Mp series wedges. Although it takes a combination of attack angle, ball cover soft vs. firm and turf conditions. You/we can get any ball to spin with the right conditions.

Callaway wedges with MD grooves.
Vokey spin milled.
Either of these will fish gill a ball with ease. I find the X- forged MD to feel slightly softer than Vokeys, but it's close

My jaws did when it was brand new but not so much anymore.

They too feel much softer than my vokeys as well.

You guys are totally forgetting arguably the best non-conforming wedge made. The Nike VR Red forged had better feel and superior spin then the Vokey Red SM wedge it replaced. Which is hard to believe because the Vokey was the best I had used. But sure enough, I was pitching from the fringe with my Vokey 3 years ago and my friend was practicing the same shot, but his were checking and stopping much faster then mine. I was very surprised to see that so we switched wedges, and there was a very noticeable difference between the two wedges. The Nike felt softer and holy crap did it spin. I was so impressed with the short pitches I grabbed 8 balls and walked back to about 30 yards and dropped them down and hit 8 of the best pitches I had never hit. One after another they went high and low, spinning and stopping with power and precision to under 2 feet from the hole. After the practice session I immediately went home and hit the bay, finding my still current gamer and haven't looked back.

FYI, I just got a sweeeet refinished Nike VR 60* , with paint fill and grinded, for $80 shipped...absolutely gorgeous. Hope this helps!

You can have the best spinning wedge ever.. If you play a low spin ball you will not get mega spin.

The goal is to find the right wedge ball combo that creates the most spin.

Obviously a vokey with a ProV1 will zip back but there are countless others.

I play a snake eyes lob wedge with box grooves an I can suck any premium ball back 10+ feet on a full shot.

The ball contributes to the spin way more then the wedge

I play a Pro V1 and a CG15 with zip grooves and my wedges spin too much, especially on short chips from the fairway. I could use less spin.

Just remember loft wise the highest spinning is 58° when you hit 60° and higher the ball starts to spin less again.
I don't doubt you but is there a report or study on this? I have never seen this fact.

I played 58* for years and currently went back to a 60*.

Yes there are a lot of facts.

And you can test it on your own in a Trackman.

58° is the highest spinning. On higher lofts the ball starts to slide more across the clubface, without the grooves actually getting a grip on the ball.

Bet we have had at least 20 of these "what's the highest spinning wedge" threads this year. Or is it this month?

Truth is, the wedge groove dimension rules are clearly defined by the R&A/USGA and every major manufacturer are making clubs right at the limit. Face surface roughness is also quantified, and while different manufacturers have different ways of achieving this roughness, all are at the limit too. Bottom line is all the major manufacturer wedges will basicly spin the same. You can close your eye's and pick a wedge and rest comfortably that your club is fully capable. The rest is up to the person using it.

Back to the 58 being the highest spin. I would assume it is the highest on a full shot but I would also assume that a full shot on a 60 or 64 would spin more than a partially swung shot on a 58 (to achieve the same distance) due to compression and time on the clubface. Is that a safe assumption?

Without data to support your theory, it's just conjecture.

58* spinning more then a 60* just doesn't make sense to me.
I have watched many many videos, read magazines etc and I have never heard this logic

Man when I first got the CG12 wedges I was shredding golf balls. Those things had some serious zip

Pretty sure the old tour action 588's i'm playing now are technically still illegal but they don't spin nearly as much as the CG12's did. I don't play in tournaments so I really don't care...I'm too poor to buy new wedges and new irons just to have conforming grooves
