Scotty cameron stainless steel putters finish / Restoration

Hi everybody, i'm from FRANCE and it's my first post, so sorry for my poor english ...

 

I have a question about Scotty Cameron restoration, i used to restore carbon steel putters like scotty classics or tei3 but today i have a problem with my studio style and studio select.

 

So i used different sets of grit paper and after grinding wheels which are supposed to give a "matte finish" ... anyway the finish is not matte, it's more shinny and not really close to the Scotty Cameron original finish which seems to be more a "satin finish", particularly at the address, on the top of the club.

 

 

my question is : does scotty cameron stainless steel putters have an anodized finish ? how can i restore it ?

should i use a special kind of grinding wheels ? how do they do is it an electrolytic bath.

Not a Scott expert, but I'm pretty sure they are media blasted. Looks to me like he uses glass beads as his media. I'm sure others will comment with a more definitive answer.

The even, satin finish is definitely the result of being media blasted. Various looks can be achieved depending on media used, PSI, various nozzles, etc.

Not sure on the on Stainless Steel but the Kombi are anodised. I had mine refurbed/customised to black and had to have it stripped, comment from kari Lojosi wo did the work was he was suprised but the silver finish is anodised on the Kombi

That is correct. You could clean up all of the nicks and dents as good as possible and take the head to someone that can blast it for you, walnut shells could put a good misted look to it. Polish the sole and leave the face milling alone and you are good to go.
