So these revolutionary "lower spinning" drivers lower the spin 300 rpms with the gravity core heavy side down. That's not much of a reduction in spin at all...... a change in golf ball or shaft could achieve that.....any more info on that?

Your negativity is noted and will no doubt be repeated at a ratio of 1:6 (1 complaint to 6 positive) by many other posters! Glad we got it out of the way early though

Also heard Doc Hock say the Big Bertha Fairway has a hotter face than the X2Hot.
wouldn't that make it illegal? i thought the xhot/x2hot were already at the cor limit?

I do like the look of the Alpha, and am interested to see how it performs. That gravity core concept does sound really interesting.

True, but it can work both ways. These things are bound to be good, so just wait 4-5 months and you'll be picking one up for almost half price just like the RFE. Spend the difference on what people will be paying at launch, with a matching fairway wood. No brainer for the Golf and financially savvy.

From what i've been hearing, these will never be discounted by Callaway.

Taylormade stops partly with the gimmicky BS and callaway starts with it. I love it.

Will the Gravity Core weight be changeable (ie different weights) or is it a fixed weight?
The toe and heel weights can be changed.
Callaway Tour Pros will have three Gravity Cores of different weights to choose from.

Well if that's the case, the retailers could well have a lot of expensive 'dead stock' hanging around on their racks in 6 months time. Which may make them think twice in the future. I suppose we will have to just wait and see, but my suspicion is, that statement is being made to pay some lip service to people who may be thinking of buying this Driver but are worried about the heavy discounting that has been common later in the season. Personally? I would be surprised if these stay at $499 for the whole of 2014, but if they do, fair play, I will be the first to hold my hand up. As I said, we'll see.

I think the strategy is to better control inventory as to not have the 'dead stock', and no need to heavily discount. Will be interesting to see how the year plays out though.

Seriously, only 9° as lowest loft? Mega lame.
adjustability down to 8* and flipping gravity core down will launch low. If its similar launch numbers to SLDR then nobody would need less then a 9* head
