I got a chiller for my balls (not golf) from bestbuy for $10 (orig $30) and that was it.

Didn't seem like a ton of awesome deals this year. Since my crappy HITB surround sound system decided not to work any more, I picked up a yamaha 375 receiver for $219 (usually $249), a pair of Polk Monitor 30 speakers for $89 (usually 99-119), and a Polk CS1 center channel for $59 (usually maybe $75 or so). I've got some older rears and a sub that I'll use for a while, but I expect the setup to be nice and loud. All the speakers are closeouts which made them achievable in my budget, so I've got that going for me. Not like speaker tech really ever changes...... kind of like putters. Every once in a while something comes out that seems to work great but you always go back to the trusted design.

I went through all the papers and couldn't find anything that was too good to pass up this year. I think with a lot of companies keeping prices under control and trying to compete with online vendors that there might not have been as much wiggle room to slash them down.

Best Buy has a 55" Samsung 3D LED 1080P 120hz for $799 w/ 2 year free financing. I've been nagging the wife to get her at-home-daycare started because we need the money, well really she just needs to start working. So my long term plan has backfired when a great deal comes up and she vetos the purchase citing my financial woes I've been throwing at her. Dang it!!
