Saving Grips

Im all of my reshafting endeavors, I have piled up a collection of shafts with almost new grips on them. What product if any is best at being able to remove the grips so they can be used again. Tired of wasting $$$$ on all the grips.

take it to your local clubfitter and he can just blow them off for u

By far the easiest way to remove grips and save them. All but winn grips. Its very easy. Solvent down the grip and slip the remover down and twist untill the tape is wet and then pull off the grip.

Get a GOOD (Golf Works, Golfsmith, etc.) club repair catalog and invest in one of the pressurized grip guns that have a needle that allows for the solvent to be injected under the grips.

 

Almost all grips (except WINN's and the like) can be saved, along with some cord.

 

Keep in mind that a slight film is left inside of the grip and the grip will always stretch some in the process and will feel BIGGER the next time you install it. Also, you need to let the grip DRY in between taking it off and replacing it. Otherwise you will have to let the grip dry for a good 12 hours before use. It's not like the quick 20 to 30 min. when one puts on fresh (virgin) grips! (The GOOK and slime in the core of the grip whe you blow it off will not allow for a quick dry.)

 

It's a great tool for saving grips, but only do it for NEW grips that you want to save or a special grip that you HAVE to save.

 

 

It's the BEST tool out there. (Better than the blade.)

 

 

ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION!!!! There is a possibility that the grip can split open under pressure and spray solvent EVERYWHERE!!!!
