757 in a 3 Wood - Tipping ?

Need Help

I plan to put a 757 stiff in a 3 wood and need some guidance on tipping.

I play a 660 TR stiff in my driver tipped 3/4 of an inch.
SS = 105 mph
Tempo is fast
More of a sweeper.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

My driver swingspeed is approximately the same, (107mph).

 

For a shallow bore (1.25") TaylorMade 3-wood I would tip the 757 by 1/2", (the same tipping I use for TM Drivers). For other brands, it really depends on the bore depth of the FW wood or driver you have. The bore depth makes all the difference when it comes to tipping the 757 shaft. For 3-woods or Drivers with a bore depth of 1.75" or more, I wouldn't tip a 757 at all.
