Titleist 907D2 w/ UST V2 vs. Fujikura E360

Hello all..

I purchased 907D2 8.5* with UST V2 75 x-flex about and month ago as a special order from Titleist (low launch and low spin and I have 112mph swing speed).... however I just couldn't hit darn thing (15*+ launch angle and over 3700rpm and a lot of open faced strikes where it feel like tip is not catching up with my swing) and felt so heavy I had to measure static weight which came out 350g. I also took it out to the couse and it was jusr so madly bad and by the 10th hole I litteraly got tired swinging this club and remorsing selling my old and trusty 905R with Fujikura BW65. Nonetheless, I just decided to go to lighter shaft (only 9g difference), Fujikura E360 (bind bored 2")... funny thing is now I'm hitting nice flat drives with 13* launch angle with 2500-2700rpm backspin getting atleast 25 more yrds.

here is my questions..

is 907D2 static weight of 350g too heavy? I measured pull out UST V 75 shaft with tour velvet grip and measured about 145g, is it suppose to be that heavy with grip?

since V2 75 X-flex suppose to be lower launching and lower spin shaft than E360, how come I'm getting totally opposite result ( much lower launch angle and over 1000 rpm less spin)? is it just a matter of which fits better for me or not?

Please shed some light on this guys...

anyone??? I'm really baffled how this can happen... is V2 75 (titleist version) a low kick shaft unlike they advertise or maybe damaged?

Well, it is hard to answer your question.
IMO, 75 X-stiff shaft with tour velvet grip weighs ~ 130 gram. (grip weighs ~ 50 grams, and tape and so on weigh ~ 5 grams).
If you have backup grips, why don't you remove grip and check out the inner bore of your shaft. 145 gram is weird. There may be something in your shaft to adjust SW.
As far as I know, V2 is not whippy.

I'm not sure exactly...though I know with myself I hate any UST shaft...never have hit a V2 good...although I hit the E350 in my driver, E370 in my 3 wood and the E380HB in my hybrid and I LOVE them...so it may be just what works for you....p.s. I didnt like the D2...I had the same problem with it...too high with too much spin
