What shafts?

Hey.

 

Just wondering what shafts all the juniors are playing on here?

 

I'm not bothered about flex and don't want this turning into a i play XXX flex shaft etc.

 

I just bought some Project X shafts for my irons and look forward to trying them out.

 

For the woods i think i will go with Aldila VS Proto.

Im just playing NV's in my woods, and TTDGs300s in my irons, but i think i will probably get black golds in my next set

Black golds are nice shafts but i hit it high enough as it is!!

I have Diamana Whiteboard 73 in my driver and it is a cannon. Looking for a heavy Fujikura shaft for my 3 wood because I need a little bit more weight. I don't use my hybrid that much so I am fine with the VS Proto in it. I have S300s in my irons but am looking to get some PX shafts for them because I need to lower the flight.

Not for me.

Tried them out today and they start off on a high launch then flatten out.

Playing dgs300's in the irons and wedges theyre perfect for what i need not worth changing the things that are working.
If there was a good enough clubmaker around my area i would put diamana blueboards in my woods.

A lot of pro's round my way are to lazy to do re-shafts and the like. Pathetic.

i play aldila in my woods. VS Proto-reg w/ stiff tip, and DVS-stiff in my 3wd.
i got Graphite Design YS-6+ x-stiff in my hybrids.
I got Project X 6.5 in my irons and wedges.

I'm still a big fan of Aldila NV. The launch numbers are really good and it gives an awesome boring ball flight, espeically in the FT-3. Dynamic Gold in irons although I've considered Project X as a tend to launch irons quite low. Maybe a consideration for any future sets.

I'm very happy with most of my shafts.

Some of my complaints:

The driver shaft is awesome, but it's the one with a triangular-tip, which has a lot of torque. Sometimes it can get away from me a bit and go offline.

Also, I'd prefer something a little softer in my wedges, DG S300's probably. But, it's not too important.

I just got my irons today from getting them reshafted with project x 6.0. I just got my driver back to with a blueboard.

I have Graphite Design in all of my woods:
driver--YS-6 65g reg. tipped 1.5in
5 wood--Purple ICE 75g stiff
hybrid--YS-hybrid 85g stiff
In the irons I have:
rifle flighted lite 5.5

I have a V2 in my driver, steel shaft in 3wood to keep flight down, ys-6 in hybrid, putting black golds in irons and just whatever comes in wedges

In my irons, hybrid, and 3 wood I play DG X100. In my driver I play an accuflex assassin Long Drive Model ( Needed a heavier shaft to keep the flight down)

Well it usually depends on what day of the week it is. Currently I have three drivers and depending on how my shoulders feel (torn labrum in both) I'll go with a stiff Fuji 8021 Proto or either an X in the Rombax 7v06 or Mitsubishi Tour Iverx. I've played a UST Proforce 65 ATR in stiff in my 4 wood for about six years and I play the Fuji FTB-90 stiff tipped 1/4" in my hybrid. It's the satin finish PX in all the irons and wedges.

EDIT: New driver with the stiff flex Rombax Pink Proto- soooooo much smoother on the shoulders. All those other setups (except the mitsu) will be for sale shortly if anyone is looking for some reasonable tour issue stuff.

To be quite honest i'm thinking of instaliing these Project X shafts myself!

Right now I have a stock shaft on my driver, Speeders on my wood and hybrid, and I am looking at shafts for my irons right now. Lets just say I swing a little too hard for regular flex graphite shafts nowadays("CRACK!"). Good thing it's not the season.

I've been played a grafalloy blue shaft for the past two seasons, stiff flex, and I swing about 108. I like how its not too boardy, I prefer to be able to easily and properly load a shaft over playing a stiffer shaft where on an off day I might be trying to hard just to get the thing to flex at the top of my swing.

Its not exotic, but I love it.

It's myth that the more expensive the shaft the better it will work for you. .

When i used to work in a pro shop i had it done free :/ now the pro i worked for is heading to a golf club in oxfordshire Tainton heath i think it is ...

for all of you I'm reading about switching to PX shafts I have a word of warning: get tested for them first. If you play dg s300 you probably only need a 5.0 PX, 5.5 max. The way the shafts are measured is a little different and they usually play about 1/2 flex firmer than labled.

Project X 6.0 for me. Time to man up!
