Anyone know anything about this ball?? Just got a sleeve of them in a tournament goodie bag.

I hope it's softer. I really liked the performance of the original but it felt and sounded horrible IMO.

I really liked the ball at first. It was very good off the tee, with hybrid, irons, and had more than enough bite when chipping/pitching. It was a little clicky when putting, but nothing too bad. I found it great into the wind. I used this ball a lot until it the durability of the ball became an overriding issue. I bought a lot of these balls when Els won the British Open - they sold them for $27.20 or something like that (Els winning total); they were normally around $45 or so. But again I had a big durability issue with these, and returned them because they just aggravated to no end. The last straw was when on the 1st hole at my home course (par 5), I hit a tee shot right down the fairway, then hit a 3w on the green. Went to pick up my ball to wipe it off before putting and it was torn. This was a fresh out of the box ball. Same thing happened on hole 5, and again on hole 14 - ball torn from normal use. I don't have an incredibly high swing speed, 100-105, so I have no explanation as to it. I switched back to pro-v1x and nxt tour-s and never had any similar issues.

The HEX Black Tour is a great ball with outstanding bite and abilities in the wind. Simply a tad too hard for my swing speed (slightly over 100 mph).
I hope that they took all the great characteristics for the new Speed Regime balls and find a good compromise.

Ive got about 10 dozen boxes in my garage and may add more if they stay on sale like they have been.

I have a swing speed of about 100-105 on the course and Im in-between the Hex Black Tour and Chrome+.

So, in the winter I play the Chrome+, in the summer I play the HBT (I compress it easier in the summer).

Chrome+ spins too much on the green, but I lose 20 yards or so on drives with the Hex Black Tour while gaining 10-15 with irons. Go figure...

I got one of these several months back signed by Hal Sutton through a mutual friend. I asked Harry Arnett about it, and he said that it is a prototype version of what came to market as the Chrome + and is only available to Callaway staffers. I don't think its an indication of a new Hex Black coming to market, especially since the SR series is already on its way.

Not a seasoned player but my brother, who is, bought me a box of these for Christmas. Absolutely smashed off the tee. I'll be gaming them
