I'm tempted, I always liked this ball. This is the 2008 version. Is there any concern with buying balls that are 6 years old?

The TP Black LDP used the 360 LDP dimple design that is still used an several TM balls today (as of the Lethal TM balls still have a visible cover seam). It uses solid mutilayer construction with polybutadiene core, ionomer mantle, and urethane cover which are all standard materials used for golf balls today. The USGA set limits on ball's overall size, weight, symmetry, initial ball speed, and overall distance years ago, so aside from aerodynamics and feel, there haven't been many advancements in ball technology in years.

Thanks for the detailed response storm. I'm not so concerned about the technology being outdated but if the age of the ball has any effect on performance.

While shelf life used to be a concern with wound balls, I wouldn't worry about it with solid core balls. Also keep in mind that while the TP Black LDP was originally released in 2008, TM continued to produce it until 2012 I believe so these could be newer than you expected.
