Sorry to be "that guy" but isn't that awfully rude?

Considering the divorce rate is over 50% maybe at the next wedding there won't be a golf tournament on and the OP can pay uninterupted attention

In my defense I didn't watch during the ceremony. Only before the wedding party walked in and then after they walked out. I might have been tempted to watch more but I was sitting by my wife thats her leg in the pic. Lol

Can't top this, but we had our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner at a golf course. After the rehearsal dinner we sort of...somehow...made it to the range to hit some balls. Needless to say, my soon to be wife and my mom weren't very happy. They sent my dad (mistake) to warn/get us. Of course, him being a golfer as well, hit one or two before we returned to the banquet hall.

I don't know if this will top it because it hasn't happened yet but, my wedding is in a few months and it's being held at a local course. This course happens to have a mini-golf course as well (as in putt-putt in case there's any questions about terminology) which you can rent for the reception. For the entire reception. We're renting it. I don't think I'm going to spend much time on the dance floor...

A couple of years ago 5 of us in an office were watching the Masters on our individual desktops. The boss sent me an email to come to his office. I walked in, he turned his computer toward me and said, "Hey, did you know you can get this on your computer?"

I can name more than one guy who played golf with his groomsmen on the morning of his wedding.

Got to train the gals quickly and right out of the gate!

Wife and I got married at 4pm, she and I kept our usual 8am tee time that morning. If I recall, we bet on something regarding who got to smash the cake into who's face, but I don't remember who won, we ended up cakefacing our maid of honor and best man instead.

When I got married in 1995 the Cleveland Indians were either in the World Series or a divisionsl series. We had little TVs at the tables at the reception for the guests to keep up on the game. Of course we knewthat for Cleveland fans this might be a once in a lifetime deal. We wanted them to stay and enjoy the food and stuff and not rush out to catch the game.

My wife and I then went on a golf honeymoon in Tennessee.

I did that. Me, my uncle, my cousin from out of town, my best man, and another friend of mine. Played at 8, got a haircut in the way home, and got married at 5ish. Good day that was.

I think I can beat this

Two Xmas's ago I host an away office party for our staff and their spouses .. we are at a nice resort. It is one of those deals where they serve cocktails and then a nice dinner .. and then dancing. Everyone had comped rooms for the night.

One of the guys in the office catches me coming out of the washroom and tells me that one of the office ladies' husbands has been playing World of Warcraft on his cell right thru the whole dinner. No socializing with anyone etc.

Now that is wrong on so many levels.

My now wife and I had just been dating a couple of months when the 06 World Series came around. Months before I had gotten invited to a wedding, which fell late October, Sat night. She had signed up to run a marathon in Chicago, so wasn't coming to the wedding. Which is a good thing, because when she heard how much time I spent in the bar watching Game 1 of the Series(diehard Tigers fan here), She says she would not have been happy. I made the mistake of agreeing to go to a friend of hers on Easter Sunday before we were engaged. It was Masters Sunday. She is quite clear on the fact that that is never happening again.

A buddy and I had this discussion, and August seems to be the sweet spot for weddings. January is cold, so is February. March you have the NCAA basketball tournament, April you have playoffs in hockey and basketball(and May), along with the MAsters and Opening day in baseball, June is championship season, July might have Olympics, September is the stretch run for baseball, October is the playoffs, November and december have football along with the previous two months. You have to remember that you're not just talking about the day of the wedding, you need to think anniversary. If your anniversary falls on the same day as Game 1 or Game 5 of whatever championship series and your team is in it.......

Not sure what is worse, scheduling a wedding when there is a well known sporting event, or scheduling it on a long weekend....
