Cool looking graphics but what is "hand crafted" here? Honest question...
Each shaft is handmade and not mass produced buy a machine according to True Temper. I would love to see a video on the production process of these shafts. My question is what will these cost considering how they are produced and from what I understand they only do small runs at one time.

More than most anyone will want (or need) to spend here unless the most important thing is how it will look with your "grip of choice". Because afterall it is "more important how you look than how you feel and with this you will look mahv . . . . . !!"

I guess that is what is holding me back from the Champions Tour . . . my grips (V-55s) don't match my shafts. I knew it was something but I couldn't put my finger on it until I read this thread . . .

Maybe you should re-read by post... "hope this shaft performs for me"

Don't really know what your getting at here? Just stated what info I have seen on this shaft and that I would like to see the manufacturing process and what they will price these at.

This shaft is amazing. Yes, it's handmade and, therefore, expensive and available in limited quantities, but the current profiles are showing incredible results. In working with True Temper, I can tell you they are determined to deliver something that's extraordinary in this shaft, and eventually affordable. They are stepping on the accelerator when it comes to both graphite and steel innovation.

These shafts are all HandCrafted by our prototype technicians in our San Diego R&D Facility. Each flag is cut and rolled by hand and each shaft is individually inspected, no automation involved.

We are still sorting out the final pricing on these, they will be at a premium price over the other Project X shafts due to extra time and care involved and making these shafts in our R&D facility, versus automated from our factory in China, and the reduced volumes but I wouldn't expect it to be a massive up charge over our normal Project X graphite.

Currently we have 3 weights, 50 (White specs), 60 (Blue specs) and 70 (Lime specs).

We are making them in small batches to fill our Tour requests but we should have inventory to start selling in the aftermarket in late march.

I really like the new "hand written" font all the specs are written in, this really lends to the "hand crafted" nature of the shaft.
glad i wasn't the only one thinking about the authentic nature of the font.

the graphics are unbelievable on these shafts.

I said it when the earlier spy pics came out, but I love the look of the raw graphite. I hope they keep it for the retail versions.

How in your opinion, would these compare to the Project x 8A3, 8B3 and the 7 series of the Tour shafts? The latter being a great shaft. Thanks.
They have the same butt and tip signature as the Tour series, but the loading zone allows you to load the shaft more but maintain launch and spin.

How much variation in consistency is there from shaft to shaft considering these are true handmade shafts?

6a3 is the best driver shaft I have ever hit. If these are better, then please sign me up.
Agreed, 6A3 is the best driver shaft I've played. It was stout enough to trust it wouldn't go too hard left with a smooth over all feel. The 7A3 gives me the same anti-left confidence but feel is no where near the same.

I must try these shafts. If they are designed for more load then look out!

Sounds like when Matrix Ozik took off a few years back when they were pushing the shaft tech to a all new level in materials and designs. Think of the shafts being "hand crafted" like hand rolled good cigar....only prices are much higher, but last much longer then a 2 hr cigar. The Ozik altus and Infra were the first of the 300.00 & up price tag back then, they ( Matrix) introduced the first 1,000.00 + shaft unless you remember the old Aldila Cinnamon Prototype that was pricey as well.

Any one know where the price point is going to end up?

Don, may or may not want to answer this but with the PXv Tour 52/70 retailing at $274......I suspect these will be north of that number.

Uhumm...I would have thought that graphite shaft production is actually not something you would want a human to do vs. a machine. And for those asking for the price point, it is actually hidden in the graphics on the upper end.

Always been a fan of the performance of anything project x. More and more throughout their new product lines they've maintained stellar performance and increased feel. I'd be willing to try anything they bring to market.
