It has nothing to do with shallowing the path.

He's trying to ingrain the feel of his pelvis being less open at impact. The shorter club makes impact sooner. His hips sometimes get too fast.

I agree with RedJeep...My thoughts are that this would really feel like you're "Freed up" at impact and through the shot to the finish. May be a "Feel" drill to get "Unstuck"?? Just a guess...

Let just say it not a drill but a test for a prototype small club for juniors. He will be promoting it so he has to test it to meet his standard to put his name on it. Also heard its great club for severe ball above your feet lies.
