Any difference between the tour only del mar and California del mar? It looks the exact same except for the different stamping...

The Oil Can or Bronze 009 and the GoLo M3 are two of the best putters I have ever seen. Really wish they would bring the M3 to retail for us regular folks!

That M3 really catches the eye!

Great pics thanks I too wish the M3 would come out, even if it was as a limited release. Hopefully someday.

I'll take that rat concept 2 thanks!

Same, one day I will own a putter just like this. So nice.

Is this tour only or will it be available to the public?

Looks like the model that Jimmy Walker is gaming!

Yep sure is and he has won with it twice this year.

I wonder what the unwritten rules of these are for the players. I can't imagine being a PGA card holder with not much status and not taking one, gaming it for a round just to do it, then selling it. The 009 alone would pay your travel and bag fee if you missed the cut. If I were some Monday Qualifier or sponsors exemption you'd be damn sure I'm taking that 009 and it will be on ebay in a matter of days.

Does anyone know the unwritten rules regarding these and other clubs they offer to players? I mean it's not like Cameron is putting these out there in hopes of a big name grabbing one, most have sponsors and wouldn't even consider picking one up

Jason Gore Monday Qualified for Northern Trust, he could get whatever Cameron he wanted because of his past Tour status and association with Scotty. A no name Monday Qualifier might get a stock Tour Rat CT depending on his past College/Amateur career but if he didn't put it in play would be asked to return it. If it showed up on e bay, he never get another club.

Ok so this is what I'm looking for. Suppose I'm a Monday qualifier with not much of a history and I'm all over the 009, it fits my stroke and it just works. Does the Cameron rep even let me pick it up? And what is the way of telling me I'm not a big enough name to walk away with it that week? Do they try to sell it to me?

I'm so curious about this. It's gotta be an awkward conversation for the Scotty rep

They've turned down bigger named players and asked for putters back when the putter isn't put in play, so not awkward at all.

Have any stories? Not particularity about asking for it back, but turning a guy down. What an elitist move "Sorry, you are a nobody and can't use our putter."

I have a Scotty Cameron, love the putters, but it's hard to not draw that conclusion when they have a bag full of putters sitting there for pros to grab and put into play, but if your not a big enough name certain putters are off limits. If that is the case why put them out there? My first post (taking it and putting it on ebay) was misguided, but I am fascinated by the tier structure as far as who is able to play what putter. It's funny that they could turn a guy they think is a scrub down, only to be making custom putters for him when he wins. Kevin Streelman comes to mind. Guy a few years ago could have easily been turned down it sounds like and now he is the toast of the town.

I see it like going to a buffet and someone stopping me at the steak section because of who I am or am not, then pointing me back to the potatoes and chicken.

I'm more curious as to how they word it. Being in sales I never want to burn a bridge.

A guy who is a nobody at the time picks up the 009, my job is to tell him that he cannot take it and suggest another putter. Same guy goes out and wins 2 weeks later, and becomes a household name. Do I come crawling back with 009 in hand??

Thunder Dan, I'm sure Monday qualifiers aren't there to pick up a SC putter and flip it. They have other and bigger things in mind.

When is the last time a Monday qualifier who is some club pro wins or almost wins a tournament? Everything is possible, but percentage says go ahead and reject that nobody.

Lastly, money can fix anything. In the worst case, crawl back and throw money at him. Best friend forever!

Any reason why the M3 isn't being released? Based on the reaction I'd say there is a market for it.

They can pretty much tell if a guy is actually interested in putting a putter into play or is someone who has hit up every OEM truck to pick up "free" stuff! They don't tell them they are a "nobody" and it has nothing to do with the Cameron brand being elitist but it's pretty rare that a Monday qualifier is someone that they won't have any info on that players tournament experience (college or mini-tour).

As for Kevin Streelman, he has been a loyal Cameron guy (even when he tried an Odyssey for a while) and has even bought Cameron stuff for his collection.

A few years ago at the PGA Tour event in Jackson, Ms, I watched a Champions tour player (who was a winner on the PGA & Champions tour) take 5 more rare Cameron putters (special custom stampings, etc.) from the bag at the practice green while the Tour Rep wasn't there. When the Cameron rep came back he noticed the putters were missing and asked around to see if anyone saw who had taken the putters. Once he found out who took the putters he went to the locker room and took the putters back from the player.

The reason, the player had a reputation of never putting the putters into play and the putters ending up on e bay later. The Rep had no problem telling that player he couldn't have the putters!

That 009 is so sweet. Love the big SC on the face and sole stamping.

It'll be available to anyone who is willing to pay $2500 for it. It has to be ordered through SC distributors.

I'd like to know as well. And can tour players just take any/how many of these as they would like?
