Any one know where the price point is going to end up?
Don, may or may not want to answer this but with the PXv Tour 52/70 retailing at $274......I suspect these will be north of that number.

Yes, still figuring out where north of that. It won't be four figures, or near it, but there are extra costs involved with individually cutting and rolling the shafts in the US.

Uhumm...I would have thought that graphite shaft production is actually not something you would want a human to do vs. a machine. And for those asking for the price point, it is actually hidden in the graphics on the upper end.

We are still finalizing our pricing but it will be north of that. It won't be four figures, or near it, but there are extra costs involved with individually cutting and rolling the shafts in the US.

Actually we can much more accurately cut materials to the correct dimension and position the material much more accurately in the layup by hand. This is why all of our prototyping has always been done by hand, even when our factory was here in San Diego and we had the automation at our disposal we still cut and rolled by hand.

Well, not all of the above quote is mine actually. But I appreciate the info and for putting up with the little joke I added in. :)

As a lucky Wrx'er that is part of the True Temper test group, I've got a 70 gram PX LZ coming in a few days.

I chose the 6.5 instead of my usual 7.0. Coming off the winter break, I'm just not swinging as hard as I used to. I'll be sure to post pics of this as soon as I get it. Putting it in an SLDR 430 9°.

Flash-

When we launch there will be wood shafts in the 50, 60 and 70 gram ranges. 5.0-7.0 in 50 and 5.5-7.0 in the other two weights.

I maybe a little bit biased but I think they feel fantastic. Easy to load but with complete control.

Alright, finally got a few pics snapped. This baby is fresh out if the lab...made on Feb. 26! With it being dark I had to take the pics indoor. I really like the aesthetics of the shaft, very subdued. From about 3-4' away, you really can't see the 'X' pattern in the loading zone unless the light hits it just right. And the scripts at the tip and butt ends are not very noticeable from that distance...you can see the color but you really can't make out what it says or if it is some sort of design. This will look awesome in my G25 head! Now if this snow would just melt!

And the divot tool was a nice little surprise. I'm guessing it is aluminum because it weighs almost nothing. Pretty cool!

Two years ago I submitted an application and video to be a part of the True Temper Test Panel - which was accepted. The experience has been great as I have been able to provide blind test feedback and information to True Temper in effort to improve their product. In full disclosure - I have only gamed one of their shafts (woods) during the testing process for longer than three rounds (the PX BLACK 7.0 which lasted about half a year as it worked better with the head I was playing at the time). Ultimately, Fujikura has been my shaft of choice based off performance. The Motore Tour Spec line - in particular the 6.2/7.2/8.2 TS has been a special performer. It has allowed me to control my flight and spin, while tightening my dispersion pattern. The performance of the shaft has come at the cost of feel. I would describe the the .2TS line as a shaft that you "force load" as opposed to allowing the shaft to naturally load and unload. This has fit my swing - but I want something that is in between a "force" and "natural" load. The shaft that kicks the Motore Tour Spec out of the bag will be a perfect blend of technologies. Performs, controls, provides great feel/feedback and gives me the ability to find that next gear.

I will be updating this thread and my WITB with feedback/results moving forward.

Of course :) I should have it ready to test in my COVERT 2.0 TOUR for this weekend.

As I mentioned above - two years ago I submitted an application and video to be apart of the True Temper Test Panel. New products (depending on profile) are filtered to the panel for either blind/preliminary testing and feedback or final testing with finished graphics etc... This would obviously fall into the final testing category, and WOW does it look great!

I too have been one of the chosen True Temper testers and my LZ showed up today in the typical box, but with one unique marking on it!

So I pull this beauty out and it looks awesome. Can totally see and feel the loading zone section in the middle of the shaft. If you run your fingers over it you can feel that weave slightly. Love the HAND CRAFTED marking on it and all of the specs. Shaft just looks mean. Mine came with my OptiForce/Big Bertha tip already installed, so I just need to cut and grip this bad boy. Will be in the simulator tomorrow evening to give it a good run through and I can't wait to try it out.

Also came with this little prize! Straight milled out of aluminum!

Got home today to find this sitting by the door:

DSC_0813_zps03028f1f.jpg

DSC_0814_zpsc4d20572.jpg

So I picked her up and shook her a little and noticed a little pinging noise... I'm hoping FedEx hasn't broken anything after hearing this... Tear the top off and out this comes...

DSC_0815_zps28414df9.jpg

Nothing is broken, and I hope you can see it in the picture, but there's a little surprise baggie attached to the baggie the main item is in... So I tear the bags open and remove them in all their glory...

First, the small baggie gets opened:

DSC_0816_zpsfd4cd3d3.jpg

Then the larger sleeve and BOOM goes the dynamite... Head EXPLODED at first glance of this beauty...

DSC_0818_zps7d173301.jpg

DSC_0820_zpsc2676d6c.jpg

No, your eyes don't deceive you. The raining graphics at the butt end go right up to the ProjectX logo and then there's a break and then they resume down near the tip all the way to 1" from the bottom, where the raining graphics aren't present as this will be prepped anyway.

DSC_0819_zps2ea1e1ac.jpg

From the exposed weave to the subtle blue raining specs/model (this is a 6.0 LZ16 that has 3.8 torque) to the attention to detail down to the fact that this sucker is hand rolled graphite, ProjectX has a visual winner. I'll be installing it into a Taylor Made adapter and will be trying it in my SLDR 460 10.5 as well as the SLDR 430 12 degree I purchased today from Peepz. Regardless, this shaft is beautiful. The divot tool was not expected, yet an AWESOME touch of class to go with this product line. And I can't wait to get everything ready to go. I'll leave you with a vintage style photo, as the Handcrafted logo reminds me of a vintage surf logo.

LZ_1972_zpsc6e30749.jpg

And I want to give both True Temper and GolfWRX a special shout out for selecting me as a tester for the True Temper test panel here. I've had the opportunity to test several shafts, and nearly every one of them have found bag time for me, with the exception being the PX Black, as I just couldn't find a head I could get along with it in. I've bagged the BiMatrix Prototype, PXv Tour, and a few others for extended periods of time, and the PXv is still in my favorite driver I own in the Superfast 2.0 LCG. That head and shaft is just special. The BiMatrix Proto just flat out works for me, and I've moved it around in several heads (which is AWESOME and simple because of the steel tip section). And honestly, after all the reading up I've done on THIS shaft, the Handcrafted LZ, I'm absolutely STOKED to give it a whirl.

Seeing that everyone went with the 60g shaft - I should have deviated from the norm and gone 70g :)
I was going 70, but I told them to send me which ever would be the highest launching shaft as I was trying to get maximum launch and minimum spin.

LOL!

After discussing my wants and needs with Bill - he "challenged" me to give the 60g a rip. He felt that if I truly wanted the shaft shoulder some of the work it would be the way to go.

Stunning in person - agreed?!

I, like several others above, have been fortunate to be part of the True Temper test panel.

Received a PXv 52 7.0 in total matte black with just a GOLFWRX logo and True Temper Prototype. I only found out what it was after providing feedback. It made it into my bag as the gamer for my RAZR Fit. Kept it lower and less spin than my ahina 80x.
pic here:

Tonight, after watching the posts from last night, and chatting with a couple of other of the test panel guys, this finally arrived:

I opened it up and knew what to expect after seeing the previous posts:

I don't have regrets on the weight I chose or the flex...swing speed is very consistent at 115-117 right now, but will increase through the summer tou about 121-122. I've always gone 7.0 or X tipped, or double XX to keep the spin down. But, I'm backing off on that approach this time and going with the 6.5 because the SLDR 430 head is taking care of a lot of spin reduction for me.

I did keep the weight up and went with the 70g.
Running my fingers across the LZ (loading zone), I notice the subtle difference of what seems like a cross ribbed structure. Not smooth like the rest of the shaft, but a very distinct set of ribs (probably about 0.5-1.0 cm in width. I'll have this in the SLDR this weekend, on the range for sure, and hopefully on the course. It will be fighting with my current 6M3.

Hand rolled on 28 Feb 2014!

For those of you who haven't followed the progress of the GolfWRX True Temper Test Panel - here is relevant sample thread/topic that was started over a year ago with the introduction of the PX BLACK 7.0. This was the first opportunity that the test panel had to review and document our findings. I felt that the PX BLACK 7.0 was a fantastic shaft. In fact it was a Motore Speeder killer for half of a season, until switching drivers... For some reason the shaft didn't respond well to the new characteristic of the different head. That being said, check out this link for a preview of what is to come http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/690206-project-x-black-70-review/

I can only imagine that the PX LZ will draw much more interest than the PX BLACK did from us shaft junkies. It is very rare in this day and age of mass production that a shaft is "hand crafted". The team over at True Temper viewed this as an opportunity buck the trend and "hand crafted" the PX LZ in America by a team that bleeds golf and innovation like we do. Good work guys - I'm hopeful that this shaft makes the impression needed to replace my current shafts.
