2014 B330 RX Question

Has anyone had a chance to play/review this ball? I got great distance from the '12 RX but did not like the ball around the green. I switched to the B330s for more short game control but felt it was a few yards shorter off the tee (I know, a few yards isn't much but I want as much distance I can get without playing a rock - 100-105 swing speed).

Anyways, just curious if anyone has tried the '14 B330 RX and if it is better around the greens?

Thanks

I'm just curious. What exactly didn't you like about the way the ball reacted around the greens?

Just felt like I didn't get the aggressive bite that I usually do with other tour balls. Granted, all it takes is an adjustment to fly it shorter for a little more roll out...but I'd rather find a ball to fit my game as opposed to fit my game to a ball

That's the only area where I found the ball lacking so I'm curious if the '14 edition is any different.

Have you tried the B300RXS? Sounds perfect for what you are looking for. I play the RX. I get adequate spin out of it and I have good control around the greens with it, plus it is long and straight off my driver. I have two dozen left over from last year so I haven't tried the 2014 version yet.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia and as we're in the middle of summer many courses are dry and firm. I've used the RX as my preferred ball for about 12 months and have just moved to the 2014 version. After a couple of rounds I'm finding a marginal increase in distance and the new version seems to be a little more responsive around the greens. If you're looking for aggressive bite it may not be the ball for you but it suits how I play and as a player who liked the previous version of the B330 RX I'm impressed with the changes Bridgestone has made with the 2014 version.

I am in Melbourne too and my club pro has made me a mixed dozen - 6 B330 and 6 B330-RX. The 2012 versions of both have worked for me and can't wait to try the new stuff tomorrow!

I understand the 2014 B330RX is supposed to have a bit softer set up to help with short game control. I have personally spoken with a Bridgestone rep who gave me this information. I played the prior generation B330 Rx and found it to be a very good overall ball and expect the changes with the 2014 B330 RX as to the new Hydro core formulation the ball should be fantastic. I will know in two weeks when I get to New Smyrna Beach , Florida. I have 6 sleeves of the new ball to use and am looking forward to it.

Today I did a ball fitting with Bridgestone and they said the 2014 balls should be coming out in the next few days. None of my local stores have them yet. If spin is what you're looking for, the RXS version is simply awesome. I played three rounds with it last week and it has plenty of spin.
