I will have to agree with this I have been to the last page of the bst more than 3 times this week it is worth looking for good deals. I mean I leave my stuff back there and try to drop the price. I post in my thread for a drop but dont repost it was starting to piss me off because my ad slipped back fast and I thought something was going on but I cant keep track of all threads I try to report when I can but it is hard.

I think this is more than fair and appreciate all the work the mods do to keep this site up and running. Thanks for making this available to those of us who love golf and love to b/s/t equipment. Those who have serious problems with this request should go sell their stuff on ebay or somewhere else. I consider it a great privilege to be able to sell on this site for free. Also, for those who complain about where their add ends up in a few days, the same things happens on every other site and if someone is really looking for the product you have, they will contact you, regardless of where your add is. Just be grateful for the opportunity provided as opposed to complaining because it does not meet your idealistic/unreasonable expectations...

i believe i am one of the recent offenders of this rule. i'm new to this board's bst(been using them on other sites for over 6 years though), and couldn't find that particular one posted. before i placed my first 2 ads, i read the following rules(listed above) which i thought were all inclusive...i fully plan on abiding by the 30 day rule and don't really have any qualms with it, but cannot seem to find it. this is what i do see though...and please let me know of any other areas rules are listed that i missed:

1. No unauthorized commercial postings
2. MANDATORY! - Please provide original clear pictures in Sell or Wanted to Trade listing and items MUST BE IN YOUR POSSESSION.
3. No e-bay links in the B/S/T unless you are the seller and add the sale price or trade equivalent.
4. No negative comments regarding sellers asking prices.
5. All items must have a sale price.
6. No selling of surplus goods from other sites.
7. No selling of questionable goods.
8. No selling new uninstalled shafts without prior approval per the Rules of the OEM.
9. Equipment-Please state whether original or altered. This applies to all equipment and all processes. Refinished, reshafted, lie angles adjusted etc. Pullouts- please remove grip to make sure the shaft is not plugged. Measure accurately. Provide tipping information if known.
10. Bumping Rules

- Posts are now sorted by Date of Topic Creation.
- Sellers must combine their Ads and cannot post new Ads unless their previous Ad is Closed or deleted.
- Please PM a moderator or report your post to have it moved to the Archive Forum or to be deleted.
- Repeated improper Reposting of Ads can warrant suspension of forum rights.

11. Please provide all relevant contact information between both parties involed in a BST transaction.
12. All WTB posts are locked. Replies should be sent by PM or Email.
13. Please combine all For Sale Items into One Ad.

And to clarify I wasnt pissed because my ad was back on the third page I was pissed because it got there so fast (all the repeat listings) and to answer the question above me no it wasnt a rule before this the old rule was make sure the ad was back to say page five (think this was stated by dr pino but dont quote me) it is the abuse that brought on this new rule change.

1. Closing your add which had been bumped down to page 4 and re-opening it as a new add is wrong.

2. Opening an add, selling your item, closing it, and then a day, a week, whenever later, you can sell another object. You are just limited to one add for that particular item in a 30 day period.

Is the above correct, or are you saying that you get one add every 30 days, max of 12 adds a year, period.
If you list an item and its sold. Close it and it will be moved. You can post a new Ad.

If you list an item and it doesn't sell, you must add your new items to it within the 30 day period. If you want to take that item off the market, it can be deleted by request if you hit the violation button. It should not be relisted to get to the top within 30 days.
Sounds good to me. Thanks for the clarification GX.
Rules seem fine to me. I think its dumb when you see the same people posting the same stuff for sale for the same price. If a club doesnt sell on here, then its either priced too high or its something so bad noone wants.
This is an excellent point. As several marshalls and mods have pointed out in the past, the BST is driven by the buyers' demand.

these are the BST rules that are most often broken. bolded ones are the most common with the "repeated improper reposting of ads" being clear (up to mod's discretion what is improper reposting and obviously the management feels like this is being abused).

That sounds a lot clearer/better than the original post. I totally agree on guys "bumping" ads to the top that didn't sell the 1st time around. There are a few that don't seem to get the fact that the clubs are simply overpriced and undesirable. I try to simpy post it, drop it, drop it, close it, Fleabay. I'm getting more used to using the search filter and more people should try to do this, makes it a lot easier to find a certain club or shafts.

So am I within the rules if I put my driver up for sale, no bites, drop price, no bites, close the ad after 4-5 days (at this point it's gone to fleabay and no longer available). Then a few days later I have a wedge I'd like to sell. Even though it's been just 6days since I initially posted the driver but have now closed it, I open a new ad with the wedge for sale?
I always thought by selling more items on this site, gives it more exposure, and brings more people in. If you can't post a ad for 30 days, then the board becomes stale. Potential long term members, want to log in and see fresh ads on a daily basis, not old ads that have been sitting. If you sell something, then close it, it only makes since to open a new ad to post a new item. Now if you want to charge a dollar to post a ad, then i don't have a issue with that.
With 2 posts, and 37 documented sales maybe you should consider becoming a certified seller here. Secondly older adds come up when people use the search feature..

As you all know, Wrx has never been postered as a business to sell it's members goods and services as some sites are run. As a result, the revenue raised from this site is minimal yet the cost of the site large and is shouldered, primarily, by it's owners. I think it's pretty fair......you get a place to buy and sell at NO cost to you but we ask for everyone to follow a few simple guidelines. That's it. I, for one, don't want to see the day that we have to pay $5 just to post a FS ad but if that's what it takes, so be it.

That said, if anyone has any issues or suggestions or complaints, please PM easyyy, Gxgolfer or any Mod and we'll do our best to get it resolved and/or implemented. I think we would all agree that input from the members will always help make for a better enviroment for everyone.

Thanks.

What kind of BST benefit would that be? Listing is free now. Free pinning of Ads? We would have to raise the cost of ClubWRX membership and people will complain more about their Ads not being seen on the front page. It would also require more overhead to run and maintain.

The reality is that the majority of people don't want to pay to list Ads and feel that they contribute to the board by selling their clubs here. Not going to change that mentality and don't want to go down that road of changing the board to fee for listing only.

If people feel that exposure is wanted, then paying a fee to pin their Ad should easily be built into the sale price of the club.

you've posted a new ad almost every single day for the last week or so. that, IMHO, is abuse of rule #13: Please combine all For Sale Items into One Ad.

you seem to purposely split your items up and advertise single ones in separate ads just to monopolize the exposure of the first page/top of the listings.

IMO, you're the perfect candidate for becoming a Classifieds Supporter.

Unfortunately, that's not possible without major modifications. And it is counter to how the listings are shown.

Okay, I hope you won't mind if I add my opinion here.

1. Regardless of what Gxgolfer has said, the owners of the site are at liberty to amend the rules at will.
2. The rules are made under the assumption that we are member of a community who appreciate the BST and will not play loose and fast with the rules and take advantage of the good will of the owners, mods and rest of the community.
3. With only 2 posts and 37 sales it is pretty clear that you do not really want to be a part of the community - although I am certain you are welcome. If you were to create a situation where the community proper (and me) were to loose privileges then you deserve a :D
4. Perhaps it is possible to limit the amount of sales per week until a member has reached a certain post plateau. Of course, then we would probably be inundated with a ton of "nice pic" and "looks good" posts.

I agree with you. I can't stand to see someone have 80000000 feedback and 0 posts in the forum. That is not what this site is for. It is for us to discuss golf and golf equipment. I will willingly admit that I use the BST, but look at my number of posts. I also take full advantage of being able to post my opinions. I think the idea of posting plateaus is a very reasonable one. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement that though.

"oh woes me!" :D take some responsibility for yourself and your actions instead of playing the victim.

you and others like you who have already chosen to abuse the BST and its rules are ALREADY the focus of this topic.

moving on....sellers need to remember to close their own ads after an item sells and/or when you post a new ad for different items.

That's enough......I'm sure Gxgolfer did not intend for this be a witch hunt nor should it be a gang rape like other sites. We've probably all "bent" the rules at one time or another. The point has been made. So this thread is closed.

Thanks for the contribution and the suggestions.
