The IOC is corrupt and the Olympics are a waste of time and money. I'd like to see them disbanded.

Why would we want a guy who had a good couple of weeks to get the spot over players who are consistently the best in the sport. Doesn't that just degrade the quality of competition? Tin Cup was fiction and Ouimet was in the US Open which has qualifiers every year so there's always the possibility of that. You can't force a great "story" in sports, they have to just happen. If some no name gets in every Olympics, then it stops being a great story.

On the Pro vs. Am issue. It was individual countries such as the US who decided to only send Ams. As someone stated, 1980 Miracle on Ice happened because USSR had pros and we had college kids. Get rid of Pros and all it changes is the quality of the competition. Olympics should be the best from every country in every sport without regard to pro or am status. Of course that is just an opinion, there really isn't a right or wrong answer on this one.

It will be a real tragedy if they move the PGA as was suggested on Morning Drive to not interfere with Olympic Golf. I can see the best in golf every week on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. No way they move the PGA to March. Billy Payne is going to have something to say about that.

Agree 100%. I'm 48 years old and I've never seen any Olympics played exclusively by amateurs. Let's have an even playing field and let each nation send its best athletes.

I do like the idea of making Olympic golf match play. That would differentiate itself from most tournaments and give more of an Olympic feel.
