Putting Techniques/Tips for Overweight people??

I'm a pretty hefty young dude (6'2'' and 330, 23 years old, though I'm pretty athetlic for a guy that size if that makes sense) and my long game, short game are all great. I can hit the ball pretty long, have a chance at reaching 50%+ par 5's in 2 from the tips, and have a desireable draw on 90% on my shots that i'm pretty accurate... what i'm trying to say is I have the game to play some really good golf. I'm DEFINITELY a below average putter though, and it's really robbing me of a lot of scoring opportunities and putting me into a lot of 3 putts. I've had trouble finding a stroke i'm really comfortable with. There's no youtube videos or anything on there maybe being a solution for big guys or is it just me and nothing to do with size? idk.

 

My question ultimately is, other than losing weight (obvious solution), is there any type of grip/stroke/anything that anyone knows of or employs in their own game or is it simply not working enough on it? I'm just confused on the matter. Thanks a lot for any and all advice!

I'm over weight but I dun have a problem w putting , I even use a shorter 33" putter.
But i feel like my tummy is limiting my long game, some ppl told me it lead to early extension w my hip.

Losing weight will be the best solution to the overall performance
I'm giving up pops.. Fast food.. N I'm working lately.

I'm a dainty 6'1" 310# and dropping (was up to 380#). I found using a 30" putter helped me get my eyes over the ball.

But, I would caution you about blaming your weight for your putting. You obviously get around the course pretty well. Maybe the type of putter you use doesn't fit your stroke or your eye? I recently fell in love with a 33" putter with a good amount of offset on a big box practice green. The magic ceased on its maiden voyage on a recent golf trip.

So, maybe consider a putter fitting, or at least a different style than you currently use.

TRY ... pulling your right foot back about 5" or so in your putting stance (closed stance). It should give you a little room to move your arms freely. It does depend on your putting stroke, but worth a shot

Take your triceps and put them on your ribcage. When you have a big belly it's almost impossible to put a decent stroke on the ball with your elbows on/ around your hips. The key is getting your arms in front of you versus at your sides.

If you're confused stretch your arms out straight in front of you at normal standing/ shoulder height. Now collapse your arms inward, bending from the elbows so that your triceps are on your rib cage. From that position, grip the club, tilt forward bending at your waist to address the ball. Slight knee bend and go to go. You may have to alter your putter length and lie angle a bit. Fit your putter to match this setup and not the other way around. This will also give you a nice straight back and proper posture. A little awkward at first, but your stroke will be fantastic!

I myself have a goal to reach this year and hope these 3 videos help you. To watch the other 2 just open it in youtube. It's a very technical video to give you a good mathematical approach as far as setup goes. Setup is everything imo. My best of luck to you losing weight.
