I played the NXT Tour earlier this year, and I've played the S version as well. Then I played the 2014 S version and it's a fine ball. HOWEVER....the ball has no spin into and around the green.

Here are my recommendations: If you want spin and you want a non-tour cost golf ball, then I recommend the Taylormade Poject (a). It's an awesome ball. If you don't care about spin into the green and around the greens, then I highly recommend the Callaway SuperSoft.

I agree with many people in these forums that the NXT TOUR is way over priced.

Driver - Callaway Rogue
3w - Callaway Rogue
5w - Callaway Rogue
Irons (GW - 4i) - Callaway Rogue
Putter - Scotty Cameron Newport
Wedges Callaway Mack Daddy 4 - 54 and 60 degrees

I was offered to play a sleeve of the nxt tour yesterday.  Im a higher ss player (106 w/6i) and typically play the wilson duo or pro v1x.  I like the soft feel, spin and distance with the duo.  It is the best ball to putt with also, hands down.  I find the duo can be a little inconsistant with distance for some reason, but is easy to flight.
The prov1x offers good control with irons; including if I need to really shape one into a pin.  Miss hits are less forgiving/spinny.  The feel and feedback off the driver is great and its easy to work, but again, can be a little spinny for me. Around the green, the increased spin is really nice, but kind of a love hate.  More often, approaches hop, check and stop or come back(sometimes pull off green). Its also tough to get ball to release out of sand when needed.  Its really nice to putt with; mid soft and reliable speed.
The nxt tour today was very nice and reliable.  It has a slightly harsher feel only off the driver, but goes higher and long.  Spin is really low as it was a little windy today, but miss directed drives were only in the rough or first cut.   Using my typical aim points on my home course were off as well as the ball doesnt fade and draw as much as I am used to, but this was nice.  Shots with the 3w were very straight, piercing and long; again slight draws and fades.  For me, I can easily get the spin up with other balls but with the nxt tour it was nice to see baby draws and fades that hit the green soft and cozied towards the hole a few feet.  This was the most impressive to me.  Im so used to seeing a ball hop and stop when trying to get it a little closer (both with approaches and pitches/chips).  Chip shots were predictable and didnt grab too early.  Out of the sand I got great spin, feel and accurate control.  Putting was fine; I would say right in the middle of very soft to clicky.  There was no distracting click or numbness when putting.  Speed was very accurate.
Overall, Id say its less spin than most premium, low spin balls, predictable and great to putt with.
Anyway I wanted to quickly say I was impressed to shoot my lowest round this year so far with a ball Ive never used.  I need to try it again before I say more, but I honestly have never noticed such a huge impact from a ball since the day I first tried a prov1x. I can say that both the prov1x and nxt tour are great balls. They just simply have different characteristics, but again only 1 round under my belt with the nxt.

edit: nxt durability better than prov1x for me.

Its an OK ball with acceptable spin on full shots but low spin on partial shots. Frankly I don't see how Titleist sells many of these at the current price when there are urethane ball options at the same price that have better overall performance.

Bingo. Why pay $30+ for a box of NXT Tours when you can buy previous model premiums for less. Srixon XV's. Bridgestone B330, TM Lethal, Nike 20XI's are all less. Heck, there are even better surlyn cover balls out there that are better than the NXT Tours.

9* Titleist TSi3 AD-DI 7X
14.5* Cobra Radspeed D+ 80x
4-48* Titleist T150 w/Project X LZ 6.0
51* Srixon Z785

56*/60* Taylormade MG2 TW Grind w/ S400
Odyssey Jailbird Cruiser
Titleist Pro V1x
