I know they're not pretty but I'd like to see those irons pop up on ebay or elsewhere with their tour component dealers. Would be interesting to hit; in the latest GD he mentions how soft they feel. Obviously a player of his caliber isn't just saying that, they obviously have tour feel otherwise he wouldn't game them.

Is he really playing a heavier shaft in his driver than his fairways? What shaft is that in the driver?

Wasn't he using a Jetspeed driver not that long ago? Guess he didn't need a free fairway or hybrid...

I assume those irons are some sort of tour issue and not the retail versions....is that correct?
There is only one set, that I know of. Was told that there wasn't even a backup set made. Tour reps were pushing for one or two more sets so if something happened to EE's clubs, they would have a set for him.

Ernie is getting worse than Phil will all the putter / grip changes as of late… SLDR this week, Jetspeed last week at the Master's, can't seem to settle on anything yet.
A lot of the driver changes are made because of course conditions at Augusta and the need for higher launch angle (carry vs roll) and iron changes have to do, once again with higher launch and/or more spin (greens were rock hard).

The conditions at Hilton Head for the RBC is quite a bit different.

Ernie's irons are a bit different but whatever works. Kenny Perry's Red Line irons are different too. I have never hit them though and that must be the key.

I understand the driver's coming in and out of the bag, but I thought I seen a article a week or so ago about Ernie saying the Jetspeed was working better for his ball flight. I hope he get's his putter going again, would like to see one more major from Ernie. I must say the irons are growing on me, a few months ago I thought they looked terrible...

Those Irons might not be the best looking irons on the market, but let's get serious; is golf about looking good or playing well? Some people might say "both" and while I agree, a lot of people worry too much about "how they look" and how their equipment looks, rather than actually using what fits them best to give them the greatest chance of shooting a low score and improving their game. I see so many people playing blades and X flex driver shafts, and they can barely swing a damn club and shoot in the 90s!

I just hit the XTD irons with the C-Taper 90 Stiff shafts, and let me tell you, they are amazing! They feel just as soft as my Apex Pro Forged Irons. I suggest everyone give them a try, you'll be surprised. They also look great at address, not too much of a thick top line which was surprising.

I am calling it now, these are definitely some irons that are under the radar and deserve more attention and praise.
