2014 Zurich Classic Photos: Discussion Thread

GolfWRX is live this week from the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, just outside of New Orleans. The par-72, Pete Dye design, with consulting from Steve Elkington and Kelly Gibson, measures 7,399 yards and is laced with bunkers and waste bunkers on the 250-acre layout. The course sits in the lush wetlands on the Mississippi River Delta.

 

In the field this week are headliners Justin Rose (No. 11 in the Official World Golf Rankings), Keegan Bradley (No. 18), Patrick Reed (No. 25), Rickie Fowler (No. 36) and Ernie Els (No. 44). None of the current top-10 golfers in the OWGR will be in the field this week, leaving the tournament open for another first-time winner.

 

Last year, the Zurich Classic saw Billy Horschel capture his first PGA Tour victory after holing a 27-foot birdie putt on No. 18 to win by one stroke over D.A. Points. Jason Dufner also captured his first PGA Tour victory in the 2012 edition of the event, where he bested Ernie Els in a two-hole playoff. Dufner will not be in this year's event, but Horschel is back to defend his title.

They are tour only. Lydia Ko and Harris English were using them at one point this year I believe. I have asked the guys at Odyssey to release it earlier but not sure if they will. Great looking v line though!

They are awesome looking... the alignment looks even better because of the color combos. I love how well the V-Line sets up and I am not usually a mallet fan... I still use a Bettinardi BB2 blade putter. My buddy got the standard V-Line with Black Shaft and Superstroke and it feels awesome.

Does anyone know if Rickie Fowler is playing a standard BioCell or a custom smaller version? It looks a bit smaller in profile than the ones I have seen?
