Yeah, I am guessing you could tighten things up with a more appropriate shaft. Of course I am going off distance only. I have never seen your swing or swing speed numbers.

I am a huge fan of the VTS Hybrid shafts. That is one I would consider first. The Aldila RIP is solid also. In the fairway I would check out the Fujikura Fuel or the Aldila Phenom NL. The new Aldila Tour series for fairway and hybrid is good also. There really are so many good choices right now.

I would just do it. You have not said this but I imagine standing over certain shots you have doubt. Am I correct? Make the appointment, if you need new sticks get them and help yourself get to the 5.0 you strive to be. If you don't need new sticks then the fitting fee is worth it. Either way I think you will be happier in the long run.

The carry distance is about the same off the deck 19 goes 225-230 in the air rolls out to 240, 17 carries about 230 rolls out to 255 ish. Off the tee 17 flys 245 total 260. Its definitely closer to the correct height off the tee. Off the deck the 17 is lower and running. I played Eagle the other day #5 230 into a strong breeze and I hit the 17 to about 20 feet. Missed the Eagle putt low side with a 6" birdie tap in.

I have the i25 hybrid hanging around just incase I need PING fix. I ordered a new Golo 3 today, 33" Heavy 2 up. Let's see if it can kick the Edel out of the bag

He has 165+ ball speed and launches it HIGH naturally so they're perfect for him. Even better that they're a stock offering. One of the best stock shafts in any club... ever.

J.W. is correct...I do hit the ball hard enough and tend to launch it pretty high naturally. I played 9 holes in February and only hit the 3 wood once, but the flight looked good.

The courses I play do not really dictate whether I need a 5W or Hybrid. I ordered the 5 wood to try something different. I kept my i25 with a VTS around just incase I change my mind.

The weather is just now good enough to get out and play, but most courses haven't opened the greens yet. I have only hit balls once since then. I didn't get that driver from him. I got a G25, and I was crushing it on the range. We will see. I don't think it was his driver as much as just freeing up my swing after that miserable tournament where I couldn't get out of my own way. You planning on playing any tournaments this year before All Army?

Yes, I picked up my DD214 the last Friday of February so I am a Civilian/Reservist now. The PGA updated my status so I will be able to play in local section events against other club professionals like myself. I plan to play in at least 4 events this season. As the Golf Professional at a local course, I will be playing a lot more than in the past. So hopefully all that pays off.

I meant to ask also are you planning to apply again this year? I know you were on the fence about it before...what are your plans to prep?

I don't think I am going to go this year. I think I am going to wait till I get back to the states to try it again. I have never played as bad in any tournament in my golfing life. I think I need to get back to some type of regular tournament schedule before I try again.

I did order new custom fit Pings and I am gonna work with a pretty good PGA pro here in Germany this season. I am gonna play some local German tournaments and a few military tournaments.
