Annika Sorenstam Driver Shaft ?

Question for Champx2

Does anyone knows what shaft and model Annika Sorenstam was playing in her FT-3 at the LPGA Championship this past weekend?

She seems to be hitting if further since she switched from the Fujikura SIX.

i always thought it was the axiv shaft, but someone said that it wasn't

I'm not 100% sure also, I was told by a few its an Axiv but when I enlarged a getty image a couple hundred times it doesn't look like exactly like any Axiv on the market. This one has different text and a slightly different color orange/red

 

I swear by Axiv by far the best shaft I have ever touched or seen good players react to. No Fuji or GD has given me substantial distance gains like Axiv.

That shaft she is using is the Aldila NVS Fusion shaft which should be the stock shaft for the retail FT-3 when it is released July 4. The same shaft is being used in Callaway's upcoming Fusion Fairway Woods that are not yet available in the US but currently on Callaway's UK website. You could check out the specs there.

Great spot......I believe you are right but why the heck would she go from a SIX to Aldila? I'm not a fan...can ya tell?

Dont buy it through the catalog if your a forum junkie, That is for people who dont browse the forums.

I saw a blown up picture on another golf forum that clearly shows SIX on the shaft. I'm guessing it's a SIX shaft in new graphics that Callaway might have conjured up for their retail FT-3 drivers that will be released next month.

Just got a notice from Fujikura. It is indeed a SIX in Anika's driver. It also stated she averaged over 300 yards in driving distance. ;)

yeah, i hate the taylormade tp graphics on their shafts. The only thing about the cally ones is that they kinda copied the axiv :busted_cop:
