RBZ Shaft in Stage 2 Tour 3 wood Raw length?

Quick question folks.

I'm looking to swap out an original rbz tp shaft into a stage 2 tour to play @ 43".

Can anyone tell me what the raw length of the shaft will have to be to obtain this?

As well as this (assuming it's not a simple "throw the adaptor on", will I require much tip trimming to get it to play true to flex?

It's a speeder 8.2 currently with a raw length of 42".

Thanks in advance!

Thanks. So if I've got this right, to get a playing length of 43", I will need a raw length of 41.75"? And if I install it directly, it will be 43.25"...

Obviously I'll check it all before butt trimming etc, but It's good to know!

Think I'll try it out as a 43.25" first anyway.

Correct - although the grip cap can add 1/16" to a 1/4" to the overall playing length (if it already wasn't included in that 42" raw length you gave) so the raw length needed would be slightly shorter. ~1/8" seems to be the most common that I've run into with the grips I've used.

And yes, you're also correct that it's always better to butt cut based on your own measured playing length after it's been installed.

Just pulled a shaft that measured 43" in stage 2 and the raw shaft length you will need to obtain this is 42 5/8.

Are you meaning the club itself measured 43" playing length? Or was it the shaft with adapter measured 43"?

I am getting ready to mess with a xtd ti, and this post is exactly the post I was looking for

Just double checked my original measurements and they haven't changed. BBTG is still ~1-1/4" on my stage 2 tour 3wd. Definitely not even close to being just 3/8".

That's a different head so the measurements may not necessarily be the same.

The shaft without adaptor and no grip, pulled straight out of adaptor measured 42 5/8" and that gave a "playing length" of 43" when installed into adaptor and into club.

That surely can't be right. With a grip the shaft would be at least 42 3/4" giving a BBGM of 1/4" to finish at 43".

I agree. I don't think I've even ever seen a bore through head with such a small BBTG and certainly not a standard bore head.

So if I yank my Tour Z+ out of my other 3 wood, and the length is 42 inch with grip installed. It should play 43 1/4" installed in the head. Now my club is a xtd ti, so things might change a hair as far as playing length goes.

XTD Ti was the same as the RBZ S2 Tour from memory.
