Personally I have hit the V2 but not the YS+6. Though I have swing it in the store.

For me the V2 is a very boardy feeling shaft. I have a real smooth swing, and it feels like I really have to come down hard to load the V2 properly. Not feeling I like. I picked up a driver with the V2 in it, not for me.

The YS+6 from my memory, is very smooth. Can't speak to how it hits, but it should be a smoother feeling shaft.

Maybe someone can add something here.

i play the v2 in my driver and fairway wood. i think it's a great shaft. i don't think it has a boardy feeling at all. i have some, albeit limited, experience with the ys 6+. it's definately smooth and has a good feel to it, but it feels too soft to me. i definately prefer the v2. but, i think they are pretty similar in terms of weight options and ball flight.

i have both shafts in s-flex in different driver heads and the ys6+ suits my swing better on most days. the v2 feels about one step stiffer than the ys6+. the latter has higher torque and a softer tip from what i understand, and it certainly is the better choice for me. they are very different shafts in my view, the v2 certainly being the better of the two for people with higher swing speeds and a quick tempo.

some members here think the ys6+ is "a wet noodle", others think that the v2 "feels boardy". that just about sums it up.

to the OP: if your nickname is any indication of your swing, you should be happier with the ys6+

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

I tried the v2 for a while and I do agree with most of you that it feels a little stiff. My max club head speed is 95mph and it produces a flatter trajectory for me.

I think the YS+ feels softer and produces a higher flight. I thought they would produce a similar traj. but I was wrong. Tough to decide which shaft to go with but I love all the great feedbacks. This website is amazing.

I am a big fan of the ys 6 shaft. I tend to agree with the board v. smooth comments.

I have hit and played both shafts in same club heads and feel that the V2 needs to be really loaded to perform. I have a ss of 108-110 and for me, playing the V2 is a lot of work. There's a big difference in loading it up on the range than playing. For me, the YS 6 performs on the course.

i play the v2 67 gram in my ft-5 and i like it. unfortunately, the only shafts i can compare it to are the nv 65 and the prolaunch blue 65.

i like the v2 much more than both of those and it seems to give me a very consistent ballflight. i have a smooth tempo and load up a bit at the top and it doesnt feeel too stiff for me. the ball dispersion is very good and i am able to hit a good number of fairways with this combo, though i think alot of that has to do with the shorter length. also, i added weight to the club so the feel may be different because of that.

overall a nice feel with good accuracy, nice trajectory and nice feel to me. much less boardy than the nv-65 imo, but firmer and more consistent than the prolaunch.

The YS-6+ is not as soft as people think when tipped properly. My SS is low 90's. A few years ago I had an S flex YS-6 in a driver that was about right for me, maybe a little on the soft side. I bought it from someone else so I did not know how the shaft was installed. I agreed with people who said it was a soft shaft. More recently I put an S flex YS-6+ in another driver and followed the recommended tip trim of 1 inch. That one turned out too stiff. I figure the older one must not have been tipped.

I have played both shafts, but in different heads. I really like the ys6. I play the ys6 in all my woods. I too feel that you have to really load the v2 to get it to perform. So far the ys6 has not let me down on the course, although had some range issues yesterday. If you have a smooth swing, with moderate tempo you will like the ys6 but if you really get after it everytime you swing you might look at the v2. My misses with the ys6 are left, with the v2 misses were right. hope this helps. good luck with your choice.
