Recommended Posts

as new golf season is around the corner, tons of attractive and nice irons are coming out!

GolfWRX always provide good photos and informations about them,

but i wonder what is the best looking, forgiving and easy to work the ball.

i personally like AP2, but i also love R7 tp

AP2 offers GREAT! stock shaft royal precision project x (i wanted flighted version :[..)

while r7 gives DG...

so what are you guys' opinions?

So you're looking for a players cavity. I bought a brand new set of 3~P on the bay for a measly $280! They are the Bridgestone J33 cb's which perform as well an anything, are absolutely of the highest quality Endo forgings with flawless finish, satin chrome and are unquestionably the best looking irons you'll ever see. Clean, simple cosmetics, with zero marketing gimmicks that will look great for years to come. The best value you'll find anywhere. I was lucky to find a set so cheap, but you shouldn't have to pay more that $375 normally. Don't overlook them!

Sorry guys - I think this is a stupid question. Didn't even answer it......

I should start another poll. For low handicappers, what tastes better - apples or oranges?

I think you already have a lot of apples and oranges in this poll. Not that there is anything wrong with comparing the various models but some are better suited for low handicappers than others....

Get the irons YOU LIKE......not the irons everyone tells you to like.

(These questions absolutely slay me......... :coolpics: )

Yeah, don't ask around for advice, and don't get feedback from anyone -- just get the shiniest ones.

C'mon now, folks. The OP is obviously looking for OPINIONS from others. (Read his post. He asks for opinions.) He's looking for conversation. He's looking for recommendations. What purpose does a response like "Get the irons YOU LIKE......not the irons everyone tells you to like" serve to a topic where a guy is looking for opinions on a select range of clubs?

/< / /2 /<

PS -- I wish *I* could have helped the OP, but I don't have the clubs experience/knowledge. If you do, then why not SHARE it?!

The best ones are the ones that fit your eye the best and produce the best feel for you. What looks good to me and fits my swing probably won't be THE match for you. Just remember that those beautiful forged irons usually don't feel to good when you hit them off-center and they will never look as good as they did when they are new. Cast clubs will never feel as good as forged clubs do when you flush it, but they are more durable and are more forgiving as a rule.

Which side of the fence you land on is the your decision. I like the I-10's at this moment, but I'm open for change at all times.

Any responses you get in this thread are going to be bias to what each poster prefers as far as feel for them and to some extent loyalty to a certain OEM. This in no means is what would be best for you. All the major OEMs have great offerings so try them all. Demo days are coming up and this would be the best place for you to go and try whatever suits your eye, and then you will determine if they suit your feel. I am a firm believer in that just because it is new, does not mean it is better. OEMs and reps at the demo days will try to have you believe this to promote sales. Last year I put it to the test when I took my 905R to a demo day with Titleist and compared it to the 907 D2. LM results were so close that it would not convince me to change for $399 plus for the D2. Not saying the D2 is not a great driver, because it is, it's just that OEMs hype up their new products like they are head and shoulders above the older model from last year, or in TMs case last weeks model.

Pick irons that are asthetically pleasing to your eye, because confidence at address is important. Don't be afraid to pick older models as well. Then once you have put together a short list, put them in a personal shoot out to determine what your best fit is. This game is about scoring and getting the little white ball in the hole in the least amount of strokes. Play with what helps you do this more consistently! You can spend $1000 on a a new set of sticks, but how good are they if they are only giving you a $100 game? OLD SCHOOL RULES!!!

This may sound like a lameWord not allowed answer but ...any one of those irons you have listed would be a solid choice for a player iron, as well as many others out there. You would be doing yourself a favor to take in a demo day if possible and hit a bunch and see which iron "stands out" from the bunch to you. Most of those irons are going to have a similar profile with some subtle differences that may or may not suit your game and playing conditions.

And by all means, when you find the right set ...I would highly recommend getting fitted for them.
