Those who have hit the new Bridgestone 460cc

Quick Advice Please

I'm looking to confirm my order within 2 days. I have a 10.5 on standby but am wondering if a 9.5 is better.

Need a few questions answered quick:

1. How does this play to loft? I currently play a 905S 10.5 with Accra SC65 full insert and like the ball flight. I had a Comp 10.5 with Accra T60 and felt it was too high.

2. Is the 10.5 closed face? I read all are square to open including the 10.5.

10.5 or 9.5? Will be lookign to put an Accra T60 or SC 65 in it. Quick advice please.

I hit the 460 a few weeks ago. Its a sweet driver. The ones I saw had square faces.

I don't know if they are true to loft, but the 10.5 I played had a real nice trajectory and didn't balloon on me. You need to get the right shaft though. I was getting too much spin with the NVS, and had much better results with a NV.

I am trying to decide on a 9.5º or 10.5º also!? I heard they are pretty low launching and I am going to put in a fairly high kick shaft so I'm leaning towards the 10.5. If the 10.5 is closed at all it's out for sure.

"The engineers at Bridgestone will continue to use a patented Low Modulus (Thin) Crown in the J33R 460cc. The crown flexes slightly at impact adding loft to the clubhead, which enhances the vertical gear effect of the driver. The enhanced vertical gear effect then leads to an even higher launch and further decreased backspin off the tee."

I found this a part of the press release from Bridgestone. Maybe a 9.5 will be better for the Accra T60 I'm planning to put in.

I just got off the phone with Cory of Bridgestone. Fantastic customer service. I shared with him my experiences with the Comp and the 905S and he reckons that for a mid trajectory with the 460, a 9.5 is better.

Fyi also, he suggests that the 460 plays close to 1* higher in loft than the 420 ie a 8.5 420 = 9.5 460.

Hope this helps some. My order for a 9.5 has been placed.

HAve had it for a while and still have it. Best combo for me so far. My club fitter friend hit one with Fuji 553 and it was also the longest combo for him. Seems like this head works well with a few shafts. Good work by Bridgestone.
