Just ordered 11* JDM SLDR 430 head.
Someone in Ohio bought up all the Diamana Ilima's so I'm getting one from him at a fair price.
That's what I have in my Fourteen CT-112 and love it.
Can't wait!

Got my Japan SLDR 11* with the Ilima 70. Same length as my Fourteen CT112, same SW, same grip, same everything.
And you know what? I'm sticking with the Fourteen. Just as long as the SLDR, probably a bit more forgiving, better sound and feel.
Why do I keep drinking TM's Kool-Aid? Gotta run.....off to ebay.

Had my JDM 430 for two games now. First game I was trying to hit it too hard and my swing was all over the place. As bad as I was swinging it I thought the feel was great and ball flight was much more sensible @ 10.5° than my SLDR 460. Comparison was with the GD ADDI 6s I was gaming in my 460 at the same loft. Flight was very penetrating. I've herd a few say they thought it wasn't very forgiving, well I didn't get that impression and I hit a few from heel, toe, low and high of center. Contact was very solid thwack and not that tinny ring/ping that's familiar with a lot of Ti woods.

Second hit out and I was swinging it much better (not trying to blast the inner out of the cover). Once again I didn't notice any massive non forgivingness with off center hits. Ball flight was very consistent mid trajectory and penetrating all day. Ones that I nutted out of the middle were long for me. The odd average swing didn't spin off sideways either and was either on fairway or effective and not in the trash.

All up I'm very happy with the JDM SLDR mainly due to fact I was hitting the 460 very high which is against the trend. Depending on what shaft was used in it, this definitely wouldn't suit some one who has trouble getting the driver in the air or looking for more hight.

Have I mentioned well hit ones are looong.

Agreed! My jdm with same shaft actually spun a little more than my titleist.

What do you think about the launch? Is it low launch low spin or more mid launch low spin?

I have had mine for about 3 months. Bought it from Will Peoples. It is beautiful. I was playing a 913d3 7.5. My JDM SLDR is 10 set to 12. Same shaft...vs proto stiff tipped half an inch. Playing length 45 1/4 for both drivers. I launch the SLDR about 2 degrees higher than the titleist with about 2000-2200 spin. Titleist about 2800 rpm. I have to say I am driving the ball very well with the SLDR. It is definitely longer in most conditions. I find it more forgiving because it launches like a PW but with low spin. The people I play with always ask about because it is weird to see it launch high, flatten out and then take off running.

Not literally...just trying to point out that at 12 degrees of loft the launch is very easy.

Why not the USA version??? The SLDR TP 430 was my choice! I am personally not a fan of black sole plates on drivers, fairways, or hybrids, but apparently some guys find that desirable.

My USA 430 TP model has a .335 shaft bore and an upgraded Fuji shaft. (the Motore Speeder 7.3 at a length of 45.25"). I recently bought it brand new, complete with wrench and headcover for $369.99 + $12 shipping.

Is it really worth paying so more for the Japanese SLDR 430 base model?

I went with the JDM for the flatter lie angle as well as preferring the looks. I think the usdm SLDR looks cheap but that's just me.

Exactly why I bought it too.

I had to sand off the TaylorMade badging because it was scratched from tees. I think it looks better with the badging gone.

Mid launch low spin for me.
I hit most Drivers on the quite high side.

I've been playing this as my gamer for most of this season now. Went through a spell here lately with tendinitis coming back in trailing elbow and I wasn't getting through the ball recently and was hitting big fades all of a sudden rather than soft draws and hook misses. Got the UST Chrome shaft last week to try in place of my 7.2 TS. Feel is fantastic with this shaft and I swear it seems like I picked up several mph of ball speed.

We have had a lot of rain lately and the home course is very soft, but last night in league I hit 2 drives that carried and had no rollout to speak of in places where I normally only hit to when it's firm out. Very interesting because this club has already put me in places I've never been on my home course several weeks ago when it was dry and I'm right there in this swampy weather.

I don't find the head to be low launching at least not for me. It's amazing to me the variance in loft and launch height between cranking it down to "lower" vs "higher" and everything in between. I had to drop the loft two notches once I put the Chrome in it to maintain the ball flight I was used to with my 7.2 TS. Despite opening the face, the driver is still easier to turn over compared to the Fuki with a more closed face.

The 7.2 for me is great when my swing is great. But when I'm sore or a little off I really have to work at it but the Chrome seems much more friendly for me. But I just can't get over how great the Chrome feels in the JDM SLDR 430 head. This combo should be scary long for me once I get it dialed in!

I personally decided to pick up a this club, almost exclusively because of the solid black head & face.

That's also the plus side of waiting a few years since it's initial release. Got a brand new JDM SLDR 430cc TP driver, with a Graphite Design MT-6 shaft for $170. Definitely not "so much more" anymore. :)
