I'm glad I ran across this thread.Im elated with my MP64's and wasn't looking to change my irons....
Well I now have a set if new DPC's coming my way thanks to the fine people who influence me at GOLFWRX ;-)
I'm most interested in the feel comparison with my Zunos, and a lil concerned with mention of a longer blade length on the DPC's vs the MP64's.
In all honesty, the only reason I havn't pursued the DPC's sooner, is the lack of presence in any stores or demo days in Canada. But, I got a great deal, so I'm stoked....
Gonna load them up with the new DG X100 Pros and report back.

Im in the same boat. I haven't hit the DPC's or even seen them in person but with all this love on this site I felt compelled to give them a shot (Thanks to Diabolo). My i20s have been pretty good overall but I'm finding the wide sole to be a bit much. I'm hoping the turf interaction will be a lot better with the DPC's since I'm a sweeper. Once I get them I'm going to put my Shimada shafts in them and adjust the lie angle. If they are as legit as everyone says they are I will try them in my 95 recoil prototypes. Either way I can't wait for them to get here. I really want these to be my next iron set for at least the next couple years.

Edit: I meant to add what GW have you guys been playing with the DPCs? Another reason I like my i20s was having a solid GW. I use my gap wedge for full shots only so not having a matching GW is my only concern. I play Sm4 and 5 wedges in 54 and 60. I'm thinking about adding a TVD M 50.
Played with a Vokey 200 Series 50* between the DPC PW and my 54* wedge last season and liked how that worked. Sort of trying a 200 Series 48* now and dropped both PW and 50*, I'm not sure that I like this arrangement, but it might be an issue of not liking the 48* itself than the actual shots I have to hit with it.

I've got a set of J40 DPCs incoming next week. Was looking into gap wedges as well. I wish Bridgestone would have made a 50 degree J40 wedge (or had a set matching gap wedge with the DPCs). I've thought about trying a 52/58 setup but worry about the gapping coming from a three wedge setup at 50/54/58.

Either way, I'm looking forward to getting the new set in!

I too wish Bridgestone would make some J40 DPC gap and sand wedges. I am currently playing a 55 degree Snake Eyes forged wedge which has a head shape that matches the DPC fairly well. I like a large faced wedge. It's not as soft as the DPCs. So I am still on the hunt.

The Adams XTD forged and Mizuno JPX wedges look good on paper but I have yet to see any IRL.

I have the same wedge setup. So when I picked up my J40 DPC 5-PW, I managed to snag a J40 CB PW from eBay and converted it to a GW (bent it to 50* from its stock 47* loft). I also got J40 wedges in 56* and 60* and bent both of them strong 2*. Setup works great for me!

I thought the stock PW loft was 46 for the DPC?

You are right. 46* is stock for the DPC PW. However, the J40 CB PW loft is 47*.

Oh gotcha. Thanks. A TVD m grind 50* vokey has been on my mind since I bought my DPCs but I should probably wait till I actually get the irons before I decide on a gap wedge.

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing. The bounce shouldn't be too bad as they are already low on the CB's. How is it working out for you?

Tried to knock my X-Forged with KBS C-Tapers out of the bag with the combo J40s with Aerotech 95s. It wasn't even a competition, the Callaways outperformed all around, which was shocking to me. I loved the look of the Bridgestones, just thought they were inferior to the Callaways in every way.

No issues. Bending the CB PW 3* weak made the effective bounce 9* (from 6*) which is totally fine. I was coming from a PING i20 GW that had 13* of bounce.

Haven't even been tempted to look back. Not only do they feel better and look amazing, but I was really surprised by how much more forgiving they are vs. the i20 or i25 (which are pretty much the same club). I hit the DPC 5-iron long, high, and straight all day. Can't say the same about the i20 5i. I LOVE the DPCs. Been a long time PING guy too. Sweeper also and have had no issues with transition.

That's what I want to hear. I hit my i20s pretty high which is nice. Hopefully I'll get a similar flight with the DPCs. I prefer a high ball flight as long as it doesn't balloon.

These will be my first forged set. Like you I've been a big ping supporter. But if I find myself thinking about other irons that means something is missing with my current set. For example My driver fits me perfectly so I haven't even thought about purchasing a new one the past two years. I want that with the DPCs.

Sorry I was away or awhile. Thanks for the feedback comparing the Srixon's to the DPC's. I'd played J33's before going to Miura's. I'm looking for the J33's forgiveness level - but would take more if it came with great feel! Also wanted to say thanks for the offer to try the clubs out !

I did pick up a set of Z-Star's cheaper than the DPC's. We'll see. They do feel really good, but are HUGE. On the fence with these so far, but I'll give them another week or 2 before maybe taking the plunge on J40 DPC's.

I have played the combo set with the 6.0 and absolutely love them. Three rounds in and I am playing the best iron game ever.
Something about the head and "turf interaction" suits my swing. I thought these would be harder to hit than the Adams CB3 but have been pleasantly surprised.
Best looking irons ever
Can you compare the CB3 to the DPC? Differences? Similarities?
I have the J33's and the J40's. The 40's are so much more forgiving it's incredible. If I'm on, there aren't many irons I've hit that I like better than the J33's, but the J40's are so forgiving. I'll laugh when I hit a shot off the toe or heel and it still gets to the green. It's pretty nice.

I had the CB3's as well. The CB3's are by far a mushier feel on impact. If you want the feel of not hitting anything, then the CB3's are your club. But they also have a ton more offset than the J40's. It's more of what you feel comfortable with I guess.

Noticed that they're missing to buy from the Bridgestone website. Any idea if they are going away/a new model will be introduced? Or are we more inclined to think that Bridgestone is done in the US? Looking to pick up a set but trying to see if it's worth waiting for the next iteration (i.e. something is better/j40 price drops).

Don't know. Doesn't mean that you can't still get them at your dealer, but Bridgestone's no longer shipping to dealers or taking custom orders.

It was confusing for a bit because they were still on the web site.

The DPCs are still on the web site and available for sale.

I haven't heard that custom orders are no longer available. Is this true? I was planning on submitting a custom order this weekend.

You guys are correct. My apologies.

I clicked on "Buy Now, " but was led to a few other pages. It looks like the J40 Cavity Back is the only one available. The DPCs are no longer available... at least not at this time.

I have played J40 DPCs with Aerotech Steelfiber i95s for about 9 months and they are the best irons I have ever played. They are better than my beloved Ping ISIs from the 1990s. I am a mid to low teen index and need a little help with my irons. I tried G15s and Cobra S2 Forged prior to the J40 DPCs. I could not get past the wide soles and offset of the G15s. I need to be able to pinch the ball and I struggled with the G15s. The S2 Forged had narrower soles than the G15s but had too much offset in the short irons.

The J40 DPCs have minimal offset and narrow soles but those soles have that beveled leading edge to prevent digging. I also love the grind on the trailing edge that seems to also help smooth out turf interaction. The DPCs are very soft and strikes in the sweet spot feel like marshmallows. The blade length seems to really help on strikes out toward the toe. Add in a minimalist aesthetic with a thin top line and pleasing toe shape and you have a fantastic iron.

If I had one complaint it would be that they are on the short side distance wise. It's not really an issue but I wouldn't complain if they were 5-10 yards longer. My set was a 5-P set that I added MP-H4 3 and 4 irons. I play Recoil 95 F4s in the MP H4s and they blend well with the DPCs with Steelfibers.

Any of you guys have DPCs paired with recoil shafts? I have the protos in my i20s and I'm debating whether or not to go all out right away to put them in my bridgestones or just put my older steel shafts I was fitted for and go from there.

I know! That's what I'm thinking. I hit my DPCs with some Nippon shafts in them and they felt awesome. Can't imagine how nice they would be with recoils. Hopefully someone can shed some light on that setup.

Going back and forth between G15 and JPX-825 irons for the past two seasons with streaks of brilliant iron play between long stretches of mediocrity. But lately been playing JPX-800 Pro w/ steelfiber shafts, my third string irons, and iron play has been way more consistent. I love the forged feel, and the distance control with these shafts has been great. Only problem is lack of forgiveness on strikes toward the toe.

Ordered the J40 DPC w/ steelfiber shafts; I think will be the ultimate answer for me.

I decided to try the DPCs through the Test Drive program. Got them in the mail last week and hit them yesterday at the range. They felt awesome with the KBS shafts! Now I see what all the hype is about. So I email Discount Dans for a quote today and they tell me the DPCs are discontinued! I go to the Bridgestone website and they aren't available on there. Why the heck are they doing "test drives" on irons they no longer offer?!!

Just got back from the range and 9 holes with these irons. I'm blown away. I've never played Bridgestone clubs before. I wish I had tried these sooner. I have the Project X flighted shafts in them. The feel of the irons are very soft and solid. The long irons are easy to hit up in the air and the short irons don't balloon at all. I found the forgiveness better than my s55 ping irons. It's too bad they aren't more readily available to demo because I think they have an awesome iron here.

They seem to be designed just like the Mizuno Mp 52 line...
