Mat vs Turf anyone tested spin rate/launch differences

I think the title pretty much says it all. I was wondering if anyone has good information on pure strikes mats vs turf spin rates and launch angles with flightscope, trackman, or foresight.

What exactly is your question?
(max) Spin = 45° Spinloft with (max)Friction * Clubheadspeed

Friction is killed if
- Rough (generally any Gras between Ball and Clubface)
- Ball is wet
- Clubface is wet

So basically you can say, everything that has influence on the contact of the Ball and the Clubface is killing friction - for that yo don't get maximum Spin.
Except Sand. With sand you strongly increase the friction.



Launch angle generaly isn't influenced by mats or turf. There is something so called [url="http://www.andrewricegolf.com/andrew-rice-golf/2012/07/the-science-behind-superb-wedges-part-ii"]"friction launch" which determines how much the Ball startet towards the Loft of the Clubface[/url] . That says, as more friction you have, as better the Ball can "grip" on the face and take its face loft. I experienced in wet conditions (raining and wet ground) my wedges launched slightly higher as if its dry. It might be daily swing-mess or it might be frictionlaunch. Worn vs new Wedges i defenitely experienced that new Wedges launches lower and gave me more Spin for 60yd shots.
