• The 970 was a prototype introduced only to the Tour

• Specifications were never formally published

• This club is similar in look and playing characteristics to the PT fairway which was originally introduced in 1991 (relaunched in 2001 with a modified bore-through created for Tiger Woods use)

• Traditional small, pear head shape

• The iconic DCI triangle is seen on the front crown

This is in my opinion the best fairway club that i have ever played, the length is unmatched, not very forgiving, but if you could hit them , they are the best!

I just picked one up this week....and it's SILLY.

 

So freakin' solid and the ball just FLIES off the face. As long as anything out there.

I used to own a 13 and 17 in these. They had Penley Stealth 90's in them. Too bad I got rid of them. Kinda wished I has them. They were long even compared to todays clubs. My friend still has his and won't ever give them up.

I have a silver head version 15* and I absolutely love it! Not the most forgiving out there, but when you hit it just right, it flys. I consider it the "forged blade" of fairway woods
