11.1 handicap.
I'm working on getting my irons in a correct position at the top. Make a relaxed, tension free and wide arc away from the target.Starting with the takeaway I try to make sure the club is pointing straight up when it gets parallel to the ground instead of shut. Next taking a shallower route up to the top position. Before i was too steep which resulted in a bad out to in pull, albeit very consistently. Once i get to the top my club is at a 45 degree angle and i let the wrist c0ck take me to parallel with the ground. After recording from 4 different angles i determined that my position at the top is as ideal as i'm going to get. Club is parallel to the target line and pointing just to the left of the target.

After getting to that point I fire the left hip, do a little gravity drop and swing away. Hitting a little 5 yard fade with good consistency. Any tips on how i can straighten it out or even introduce a draw to that swing?

How do you EVER hit the ball while thinking about all of that??? WOW...

4.3 hdcp. Working on straighter aim, setting weight more on heels at address. Takeaway is all hands and wrist setting/ picking club up,( instead of my no set left forearm roll over Beethoven ). Then swing club down mostly with arms but hard to tell. Main swing thought is Rhythm Rhythm Rhythm ! Feel the club swing. Hitting the ball longest I've ever hit it , and acceptably consistent with the occasional hdcp big miss

Been a weird summer so far

Handicap is a 7.5 and going down

Im scoring really really well

Putting and short has been bailing me out a ton

Ball striking is just awful, swing is reAlly letting me down

Luckily I keep it in play and like I said, sometimes I get up and down for par, sometimes not

Just wish my iron play can sure up , puts a strain on my game/sanity having to get up/down 6-7 times a round

Hitting 11-12 greens a round is pretty dang good for a 7.5...

I don't track my handicap, but I reliably shot in the 90's before hurting my back and taking a break last month.

Now I'm working on my take away and follow through while I'm recovering. I came into possession of Jim McLean's 8 step swing video and I can work on his steps 1 and 2 without any pain. Also working on "the lag doctors" long arm drill to put my swing path in a better plane.

Hi All,
After a long 8yr layoff i have taken up golf again. I have a handicap of 16.2 and have some major things to work on.
1. On my takeaway im opening the club face by rolling my hands open. So need to stop this
2. Short game from all angles

My putting is my best part at the moment but we all know this can always use work

Wedges (short game chipping) and putting. I think this is what is holding me back from getting down to a single (currently a 10). My biggest issue is consistency. There are days I can do no wrong and days I can't do anything right. Consistency is a huge problem. I shot 76 twice the last several weeks only to back it up with 94s.

There are days my tee game is awful or when that's working my irons are off. My wedges are still not good enough for me to save par enough to break the double digit barrier.

Small update... I can't seem to get a consistent rhythm using the squat move to drop my hands into the slot. I've incorporated a different "feel" that seems to be working very well.

The part of my game that needs the most help at the moment is the mental game. Lately I've found myself at even par or one over after the front nine without realizing it until the turn. Once I realize what's going on I immediately get a string of doubles and triples. So frustrating after having multiple front nines very close to par. I really believe this is the only think keeping me from a very low (for me) round and dropping into the single digit HC range.

Trying to make more time so I can play more rounds. Driving range won't help me get over this mental barrier.

57 years old
6.1 index

My story...I was 0.5 index at my best and never more than about 3.5 during my 30's and 40's. With age I've gotten shorter and of course I want to recapture some distance.

My overall ball flight is a draw and I've never been a slicer or fader. My most prevalent "miss" is a straight push. I tend to swing too far from inside out which causes some flipping at impact.

I learned in the Manuel de la Torre method (not from him directly, but my teacher was his assistant). I think it's a wonderful way to play, but I have a tendency to just swing the arms and not let the body respond or turn enough.

In my full swing, currently working on less head sway on the backswing and on adding more hip turn to my backswing. I tend to flip, but I don't like to work too much on my impact position. I find that if I swing correctly, impact takes care of itself.

I'm also working to add some new shots in my short game. Here is one I'm working on now:
