need some 983k help

shaft, loft, everything!

I'm planning on buying a 983k for pretty cheap (probably used) but I can't decide what shaft and loft to get. I hear that this driver tends to hit high and low spin, but if you get too much loft it'll balloon on you. I'm looking for a piercing ball flight that gets plenty of roll. Right now i'm using an r510 (not tp) with a fuji 26.3 and hit it a little on the low side. Should I get a 9.5 983k with a low kick shaft (ys-6, nvs, speeder 569) or should i get a 10.5 with a high kick shaft (speeder 757, titleist speeder, aldila nv)? I'm open to any option or suggestions. I swing around 105-110 with the driver just for reference.

Hi Zojo, I have a couple 983K's, one I have a Proforce 75 and the other I have a NV Extreme 70 in, I much prefer the PF, I am waiting for the NV to be replaced with a V2 75 or 85, I will let you know, after its return. I have never had great success with the Aldila shafts.

well, another question i had is suppose that if a 9.5* with a low-kick shaft and a 10.5* with a high-kick shaft produce the same launch angle, wouldn't the 10.5 go further do to the face that the shaft is high-kick and would hit down on the ball more? or am i just completely missing the target?

out of the aldila nv and the stock speeder, which one hits it farther and which one has a tighter dispersion? I think they both have about the same trajectory

Yeah, i definately saw that. I was really really interested until i found out the shaf twas a regular flex :busted_cop: If it were stiff or x i probably would've bid on it

go with the nv i had one in a launcher 460 and loved it. It feels nice and tight during your swing and it loads very easily.

The best thing you could proberly do is try get a demo or borrow a 9.5 and 10.5 and see which one you like best.

IMO i would get the 10.5 because if you do hit it a little to high you can put a x flex shaft to lower the ball flight or you can tip the stiff.

well, i'm still stuck on which one to get. I would like to get a speeder 661 in a 9.5, but i don't think thats happening. So far my choices have been narrowed down to a 9.5 or 10.5 with a aldila nv and stock speeder. I can't really demo any because the stores around where i live don't carry the 983k's anymore. I hit a 10.5 with a ys-6 and hit it too high. I hit my 8 iron about 154 if that helps any. bascially i want a ballflight that climbs as it goes rather than a boring trajectory. My instinct tells me to go with a 9.5, but still i don't know what shaft. Please help!!!
