NOB '08 would be a good ball to try. It has a very soft cover and is low compression so you will be able to get good spin along with great distance and boring trajectory. Plus this ball is bit longer than the Pro V1 and Pro V1x... :rolleyes: :D

I don't know. I think the new ix is harder than the v1x. In fact I was primarily an HX tour player and felt it was a good compromise between the v and v1x. The new cally ix is like the TM blacks. Almost no spin, IMHO, and top flite hardness of old.

But back to answering the question, yeah, probably the HX tour or Nike One black are the closest two which is right between the v and v1x. Both are longer IMHO then either.

I keep reading good things about the new TaylorMade TP Red w/ LDP. Word is it's soft, low driver spin, low driver launch and just enough spin off the short irons.

I have putted and chipped with it so far, and I really like it! Haven't yet played a round with them however, mother-nature has been cruel to us here in Michigan this year. I have found that putting and chipping with the new ix seems very hard, very low spin and, as silly as it sounds, hard to get rolling off the putter.

I still like the TM black... Last years ball was great, and this years ball is said to be much improved.

I agree. Last year's TM TP's which are selling everywhere for $29 bucks tops are the HOOKUP!

Cheers guys well i got some testing to do ! i have tryed the ix ball seemed fine off driver and long irons but short irons was not to good felt like i was not compressing the ball enough and the ball was just running up the club face had plenty of check etc around the green dont get me wrong but 8-pw just felt the ball was up shooting . The b330-s intrests me , so does the new tm red , nob i take it this is the nike one black i used the old one a couple of yrs back enjoyed some of the results i hear its a better ball now , or just hang in there till july for the new callaway i ?

well off to the course to test ,
