Anybody remember what kind of irons covers Ben Hogan used?

[/quote]I have been playing the entire year with iron covers, and have not lost one. I pull the cover off, put it into my side pocket, and just reverse the process after the shot. What I also like about iron covers is that they keep the clubs from bouncing around in the trunk. I zip up my bag hoodie, and everything is stored tightly inside because of the covers. It is so routine now, after 50+ rounds this year, I don't even hardly notice the routine.

Honestly, I don't care if someone chooses to use iron head covers... EXCEPT, when they misplace or lose them and spend inordinate amounts of time looking for them and trying to keep their shiny clubs shiny, before and after a shot. That's when I can get a bit testy and might speak up. That same person leaves them and clubs on prior holes too, and wants to take a cart back to go hunting. Another contributing factor to slow play.

people have no issue with driver cover, hybrid covers, wodd covers and putter covers but irons are a bridge to far.... and yes they are made for being hit into the ground... they arent made from slapping around as you walk/drive around the golf course... I have used and not used and my forged clubs that I have used are shinny brand new like the day they were bought... the one without covers look like a garage sale special... Ill stick to YAY!!! and be happy with peole thinking Im a dork......

[/quote] Much of the protection of iron covers occur are when a golfer puts an iron back into the bag, slamming down on the other irons. Iron covers stop that damage.

I use iron covers when I'm walking a course sans caddy... because the hours and hours of my irons clanging 6 inches away from my head drives me to potential homocide.
