I have two more leather straps to sneak into the house. A baby pink and a green. Once I get them in the drawer and act like they have always been there... Then maybe I can "buy a cool new belt".

http://www.needlepointbelts.com

These are just the canvas....you will need to buy the thread, have someone actually " needlepoint" it, then pay to have it sewn on to a leather strap... All in, you are easily over $200... If you do a custom, hand painted canvas you could be upto $300.

That being said the SB ones are a good value evn though they aren't hand stitched to my knowledge... Apparently I know too much on this topic

So do you wear Chubbies and Croakies with these?

Seems like something some frat boy from the SEC or wanna be SEC (Clemson) schools would wear.

So I am a "frat boy" from an SEC school...

I was president of Kappa Sigma at the University of Florida

I have NO CLUE what wearing chubbies refers too...
I am guessing croakies are the rubber sunglass lanyards?

Never owned any of them...

Please sir, enlighten me, as I am not enjoying the full humor of his reply.. and If I am going to be the (somewhat indirect) brunt of his joke, I at least want to get it so I can laugh along if possible.

I was in a punk rock band, raced motocross, and surfed in my 20's...

We gotta stop with the labels. One of the most important things I learned through my 20's is don't judge people right off the bat. When you do, there is a high probability that you will look like a complete a**.

I've never even heard of these until today. They look like 1980's style computer graphics. And for $165? Terrible.

But it looks good on you though...
[/quote]

That's the charm. They are different even though they aren't at the same time. I'm kinda over the sporty look of golf. It just feels tired. Everybody looks the same out there with white belts, underarmor shirts, sporty NIKE shoes, etc. I wear the same crap but I think I may start switching it up with some classics.

Needlepoint belts aren't for everybody. It's much more of an East Coast, preppy, country club look, which are three things that a lot of people tend to dislike. Just like some people would rather have all of their clothes be made by the same company that makes their shoes, and others like to wear lavender alligator belts.

Didn't know it was regional... I see them on a very rare occasion and I always end up intrigued by these belts.

I might pick up a canvas belt. Save some money and get something different. I talked with a guy a few weeks back that had one on while at the range. He got it as a gift and couldn't tell me where to find it. It was navy blue with little pink skulls and crossed clubs. It was awesome looking.

I love the Smathers needlepoint belts. Top notch quality. Yeah they are expensive, but they last forever and are really well made. I also really like their hats; and I recently picked up a flask and wallet too. I like to mix the belts in occasionally as normally I wear the same "golf-specific" belts most of us do. I love the comment about 1980's style computer graphics; they are needlepoint man, not screened on graphics. Also, they look great off the course too.

-edit- I'm not an SEC frat boy (for better or worse?). I live in NY and my family and I spend our summer vacations on Cape Cod. Went to college in VT. Just in case I've been stereo-typed by posting about needlepoint belts of all things.

I have a few Vineyard Vines. Not needlepoint, just canvas. But have the same look and $100 cheaper than S&B.

Yeah, I have my eye on a couple there. The canvas ones look just a good.
