I like the head a lot. The shape and size really look good to my eye. The Axivcore is definately better than the KK Blk that I did have.

Yeah, the shape and size of the 2.0 Performance FWYS are great. That's why I got the 5 wood. Much better than the original one.

Will give the 2.0 3-wood a go as well. Got it for cheap from 2ndswing.com

Thanks for the reply shakey. I think blue and white paint fill on the Method putter would be awesome. Also very promising news about adjusting stock(?) putters to fitted specs. I really like the pro I worked with when I got fitted for my irons and I'd prefer to go back to him because he's local and I like supporting local businesses when I can.

Interesting review on the TS. I don't really struggle out of bunkers (56 w/8 bounce), but I'm super aggressive with them and tend to leave 5-10' comebackers haha If I'm around the green I'm trying to hole it...even if I have to suffer the consequences. I am horrible around the green in rough, it's just a shot I never know how to play and it really sounds like the TS would really excel here. I'm pretty surprised about the fairway play. I wonder if it's best suited like Phil's new 64* that he just tends to play around the greens.

That raw wedge is a thing of beauty.

Thx for the comment. Your blades look good. I'll admit that the MP-64s were screaming my name this year. Just couldn't get rid of my irons though. Hit them too good.

Went to the course tonight to get a little club testing in. Decided to actually play a little bit instead of hitting the range.

Top priority tonight was to try and figure out which 3 wood in my arsenal would get playing rights as of now. I don't know what's been going on lately with the 3 wood. My swing has felt pretty good with most of the clubs lately, but the 3 wood has been a struggle. So I took them all out for a mini shootout.

From left to right:
CP 2.0 with the Axivcore Red 79 Stiff (was the current spot holder)
CT 1.0 with a Project X 8C4 (Oven model with replacement shaft)
VR LTD with a Ahina 70 Stiff

(The following is based off various tee shots and dropping at the 250 marker on a straight par 5)

I went to the CP 2.0 after some really bad rounds with the other two models. The CP is probably the easiest of the three to elevate off the deck, but lately it has been going everywhere but straight. I think it may have something to do with it feeling very light to me. I like a heavy fairway wood. Results tonight were that same as what I've been seeing. The 2.0 was very inconsistent. The CT 1.0 showed as the longest off the tee, but was extremely hard to elevate off the deck. This is exactly the reason I took it out of the bag in the first place. The VR LTD came out as the clear winner. It had the longest carry off the ground and was the second longest off the tee. So for now, it's back in the bag.

Note: I ordered a Cobra Bio Cell + fwy two weeks ago that has never shown. If it ever arrives, I will add the results against the VR LTD.

Also spent a good bit of time tonight with the TS 58 and the Raw 58. The TS is still proving to be shorter in carry distance from the fwy. I can push 58 up to about 100 yds of carry. A stock shot is closer to 90 with the Raw 58. I have to really nuke the TS to get it to carry 90 yds. I still don't think it has anything to do with shaft. I'm gonna put it on the loft/lie machine tomorrow and make sure it's 58. About the only option I can think of right now. The mid-range shots are very good with it. Our greens have been punched so I have no feedback on spin from this evening. It still is the better option out of bunkers. I played from three different bunkers and the TS was better from each of them.

And it was really fun hitting it out of this nice lie

Unfortunately, I found this lie going for a par 5 in two. A little cart path bounce into the junk. Barely found it. I would love to say I hacked it out to a couple of feet and tapped in, but it wasn't the case. I did almost get it on the green though.

I was pretty surprised by the fwy play as well on full shots. It was the same tonight though. Just different from my 58.

Thx for showing my raw wedge some love.

I did pick up some white paint. I'm gonna tinker with the paint scheme some more this week I hope.

I checked my TS 58 yesterday on the loft/lie machine and it is 58 degrees. My Oven wedge is 58 (checked it as well).

I have no explanation as to the difference in carry distance unless the TS is spinning more. Will continue the experiment.

Really interesting reading your three wood experiment. Hopefully that Bio Cell 3 wood shows up. I've been eyeing their driver and woods this year, but after the Vapor release I'm trying to convince myself to hold out.

I've found I've gained more knowledge about my clubs by 'practicing' on the course. I tend to sneak out aroudn 7pm by myself and play ahead of me is usually slow so I end up hitting 'my shot' then I'll drop a ball or two and try a few different things. I've never really done anything like that until this year and the results have been good. I broke 40 for 9 for the first time in my life. Also shot a 42 on 9 after being 5 off the tee on 2 different holes -_- After reading all your thoughts about the TS though, I'm tempted to just go grab the 58 that's in town and maybe bend my 56 to 55. I'm not overly concerned about hitting the 58 from the fairway as I have a 51 (~115) and a 56 (~95-90) that I use.

Can't wait to see that putter! I'm getting fitted this weekend, but sadly nobody in my city carries Nike clubs aside from a BB store that doesn't have any golf staff or equipment setup.

Mr Rogers...

Congrats on breaking 40 for the first time. Won't be too long and you'll be doing it all the time.

I'm pretty close to giving up on the Bio Cell fwy. I called yesterday and there is still no record of an order at Cobra. My rep is apparently not going to get it done. Oh well. If the LTD doesn't work out in the future, the 915 Fd feels awesome. And then the Vapor line shouldn't be too far behind that.

I'm still trying to find a little quiet time to work on the putter.

Had some time at the range this morning after dropping my son off at school.

Spent a fair amount of time with the TS and the Raw 58s. I think the Raw is a better all around wedge for me. I hit it more solid than the TS from the fwy and I think I can control the spin better in short chip shots. The TS still performs better from the bunkers and deep rough, but I doesn't seem like enough for me to keep it in the bag all the time. It may become a utility club for certain courses. I'm playing Tues at a course that has very hard green complexes so it'll be a good test. I think may only take the TS with me. It'll force me to try it out all over the course. I'll post a final review after the round.

The VR ltd 3 wood is working good so far. Beast off the tee in the practice and still pretty easy off the deck. It'll get a good test on tues as well.

Hope the knee is better.

I like the color schemes as well on the LC2s, and a couple of the new LC3s are pretty good. My only wish is that they'd have come out with a simple white pair with a black swoosh. It was my fav pair back in the SP-5 days.

I don't know about the LC3s. I have wimpy feet and I love the cushion on the LC2s. The 3s supposedly have a firmer bottom.

My round the other day became a scramble instead of a individual round to make it more fun for most of the guys playing. It's a tough course and some of the guys would have never finished. But I was still able to give the clubs a good on course test.

Reviews:

3 wood

As I stated in an earlier post, I've been struggling pretty bad with my 3 wood play as of late. The CP 2.0 was about the perfect shape and size that I look for in a three wood. It started out ok, but after playing it for a few rounds I noticed the distance was shorter off the tee than I normally get. It was easy to get off the ground, but I felt like I should be carrying it longer. So I took the 3 wood test (see above posts). The LTD won the spot in the bag again.

Being a scramble, I hit driver in a few places I wouldn't normally hit driver, so it may have cost me a few shots off the tee with the three wood, but I still got to hit it enough to know that my LTD setup is the best 3 wood I have. One hole that I hit 3 wood off the tee is probably 240 through the fwy straight away and if you can hook it (the hole doglegs left) you can probably play another 15 yds before trouble. Unfortunately, I nuked this one. I hit a big draw around the corner, but the ball still bounded into the high grass and trees that are through the fwy. Big change is distance there, because I don't think the CP would have traveled far enough to have even got to the dogleg. For me, there really is that much distance between the two. The best thing about the CP 2.0 fwy was the ability to hit it high off the deck and I could consistently play a fade with it. The LTD isn't quite as easy to elevate off the deck, but it gets high enough to play and I'm still able to cut it some. We had to play one ball from 235 uphill on a par 4 for our second shot (after one of the two balls I hit so far right with driver you don't even think about looking for them). I was able to hit a high(ish) cut 3 wood that landed pin high. I really don't think the CP 2.0 would have gotten to the front edge of that green. On a par 5, we had 275 left for our second. I was able to get the three wood within 25 yds of the green. I'm not giving yardages to brag (I'm know i'm not that long according to WRX standards), I'm just trying to point out the difference in distance between the two clubs. Again, from 275, the CP 2.0 wouldn't have been close.

TS 58

The Toe Sweep 58 has been an interesting club. I'm getting better with it on full shots from the fairway. It's still a few yards shot on carry compared to my Raw 58, but I'm starting to compensate for it. During the round the other day, I got to play a variety of shots due to the fact that we missed quite a few greens (not good in a scramble). I'm starting to really like it around the greens. It's easy to chip with and like I've said before, it's great out of the rough. I'm getting used to it a little more on basic chip and runs, although I still think the Raw 58 is a little easier for me to control the spin. I'm also getting better hitting flops with it which was almost impossible when I first got it. It might be a mental thing that now I'm not thinking about the wider toe section getting in the way. We didn't have to play out of any bunkers (we did look at hitting out of a greenside trap on a par 5, but two of the guys were really against it so we played a shot from 50 yds), so nothing new to report there.

I think if you told me right now that I had to choose between the two wedges, I'd still pick the Raw 58. Shot for shot, it's an all around better wedge for me. I like the TS, and I'm going to keep it in the bag for now, but I can't see it kicking the Raw out of the bag for good.

Lofts are both 15 degrees.

CP 2.0: Axivcore 79 S
Very similar in specs. I'm on my 3rd shaft with the CP 2.0 and distance didn't really change on any of them.

Got word yesterday that the Cobra Bio Cell + fwy might actually show up after all.
I'll add pics IF I really see it.

 • 3 weeks later...

Finally. After a month and a half wait, the Bio Cell + fwy arrived yesterday. I went with the blue color since both my high school and college school colors were mostly blue. The setting is at 15* right now. Here are some pics with my current spot holder the VR LTD.

Got to the range tonight with it and hit it head to head against the VR Ltd. The VR is a little louder, a little more of that "pow" sound. The Cobra is a little more muted. Off the tee, they seemed to be traveling about the same distance. At first, I was struggling some to get the Cobra up in the air off the deck, but it got better the more I hit it. It still seems like I have to work a little harder to get it in the air compared to the VR LTD. First session was good though. It'll get the 3 wood spot in the bag for the next few rounds and we'll see what happens from there.

(pics are a little grainy....iphone pics...couldn't find any batteries for my digital camera)
