Dont SnTers now set up with a hair of spine tilt at address? I thought the head backing out or the hip thrust (lateral) was the band-aid for the longer stuff with SnT. (But I could be mis-informed).

Here's a basic description from the man himself....

Cool, i'll have to check it out. Even if it is a hair of spine tilt...there'll be backing out either way since you need to be tilted at impact. I don't see any way around it. It's clearest with Charli Wi. Some youtube videos of him in Colonial last year when he was playing well...it's amazing how much in front of the ball his body is...and then at the last second he thrust up and back so as not to hit a stinger.

All cool to check out.

What is secondary? Just COG differential right? So lower getting forward is an option for creating that right? So the head doesn't "have" to back out right?

I hate when you guys try to define the system by ONE player or ONE swing. Yes, there are preferences, but its about measuring the pieces and understanding the effects.

And according to some its been 0-5* at setup since the beginning. However, more is definitely an option... especially with the driver.

Just used Wi as an example for the model since he's maybe the best known guy. I'm not saying it's this way or die.

If you are pretty much right over the ball it doesn't matter how much you slide the hips forward, you will still hit down on it quite a lot if you are right over the ball and you are hitting it more on the back part of the circle vs a dude with his head more behind the ball. Having said that I think the more you slide the hips forward the more you will naturally back out of it to keep your balance. You can't have your hips thrusting forward without something moving back to counterattack that...unless you let your head also move forward, but that's not an option unless you really want to hit one super low.

...thats the problem. it was punch elbow hitter's pattern and square shoulders at impact right; TGM components when it first came out, etc...

So to say that all the pieces can be varied is like saying that EVERY GOLFER uses some form of stack and tilt now but with some pieces more noticeable than others when compared to the traditional model. What are the boundaries/parameters of the system now? What is "Stack and Tilt"?

I'm sure Mike and Andy do have a "model" and I'm sure that model has been modified (would have to be slightly), but I don't really think thats the point.

To me, you can call it whatever you want. I'm not trying to win an internet war, I'm just trying to help people get better. Principles based on what the best golfers did is what helps people get better, not a label and not trying to make everyone "model."

As it says in the book, you can use some of it or you can use all of it. Its based on your game and where you want to go with it. Thats why Troy looks different than Alex, etc.

yeah there is an internet war lol. it's a product of the label.

shame on tembolo for reviving a dead thread lol

Best to have people understand what they are doing. You guys want to call it a war that's fine...whatever tickles your pickle!

CBRIAN seems to be the primary proponent of S+T who posts outside of the S+t thread.I like him and respect his views ,even though some of his ideas do not agree with the Slicefixer setup or swing. To speak of war and enemies is kind of hyperbolic in an internet golf forum .The real "enemy "if you want to call them that are those who propose a more handsy release

The war thing was a bit of a joke. I just find some of this stuff so tiring. Its just funny that you are trying to make it sound so inefficient with the driver, but would you ever say Sergio, O'Hair, Woodland, DJ, Waite, Matteson, etc etc are bad drivers of the ball because they stay more on top of it? I mean what is it that you want? Even though Sergio and OHair were more left than model S&T they get ignored because they weren't associated with the label. They were considered "natural" while other's are "contrived" because of who they work with.

I wan't people to dig deep and get past the label. The information just helped a guy on the PGA tour pick up a ridiculous amount of yardage with his driver.. and get this, by shallowing out his AoA... isn't that just crazy. So maybe it could potentially help some people out. Just something to think about rolleyes.gif.

Also, I just want to make the point (again) that if you need more axis tilt at setup, then go for it.

Good stuff. I have watched the S&T videos a few times and they got me on the right track I feel. I hadn't played golf since high school so I was rusty. I have the Slicefixer printed out and I read portions of it every time I am in the bathroom, but videos just show me so much more than reading the words.

Right now I find myself focusing on my right knee straightening on the back swing, since that is the piece that I feel gets my hips rotated and then I feel like that show improvement in my shots. Now I just need to get a lot more consistent and start working on my short game. As a note my right knee never gets straight there is always a slight bend but I feel if I focus on that move I hit the ball a lot better.
