I love that the standard JPX Hot Metals are Mizuno’s best selling iron, yet after reading 30 pages of this thread I believe only myself and one other poster admit to having bought them.

They’re a bit of an odd set. The long irons, imo, look better than the CBs. And they look different down by the ball. I posted a picture of the 7i down by the ball and the top line looks quite a bit thinner than in the comparison photos. I think because they didn’t round it off it looks bigger/smaller depending on the light. But yeah I am anxious to get them built. Tip weights are taking way too long to show up 😑

Tried the Denali blue and av blue today at the store (all they had in x). Spin and launch were way too low. Seems the high launch and low spins shafts are all up charge.

Spin and launch? I’m about 11-14 with a 3,700-4500 rpms with 7 wood 150 ball speed.

Any one going to sign up to test the Mitsubishi Diamana WB shaft? There are 43 and 53 series (weight) shafts from R2 to X flex. I tried a Matrix Black Tie, when, I was younger and stronger, I don't need to try another Low Low shaft - lol.

Course is looking for a superintendent, so I'm interested. Do a google search, find an interview with the GM. He says he lives in Dallas and goes up there every so often. Brags about how they got Doak to do a renovation pro brono, but that they can't afford even 1 fairway mower. Just setting someone up for failure right way. Good luck man.

Does anyone have any thoughts on when/if the other companies (Pxg, callaway, titleist) will drop their mini drivers? I’ve been following the tour equipment threads but haven’t found out much. My guess (and hope) was sometime this summer since the pics I’ve seen seem to match the current woods for each.

Papago today, felt in great shape. Fairways were gorgeous, one or two greens had bad patches but mostly rolling well. They sent us off the back (7:00 tee time but went at 6:30) and we cruised through that, but got stuck on the front for a ~4 hour round in the end.

100% I am going through this right now and tested SM10 and MG4 wedges today, both with stock shafts (S200 and DG115?). I play $-Taper 120, and my PW is a 9i shaft. What I experienced is that the MG4 with the DG115 resulted in far more shaft droop than the SM10/S200, but in both cases more than what I have with the $-Taper in my PW. You can see from the results that this extra droop resulted in a doubling of the carry dispersion (circled in red). Note: these aren't full swings, maybe 80% or so. Here's a view of the dynamic lie angle and strike location. The extra droop pushed the strike out more towards the toe 2-7mm vs the DG200. For me this is proof I need a heavier shaft - and probably one that is not soft stepped 4x.

Looking for a left handed SIM2 Max Driver with regular shaft. I would also consider other options. Thanks!

Will installing a lighter weight make these heads less forgiving? I will be testing a ventus tr shaft in this tomorrow. It will play at 45.5 in. I installed the 22 gram weight out of my g430 lst in and it brings it in at d.3.

LOL Thanks but I need regular or senior flex lightweight graphite shafts and I know the powerful Bay Area player who is known for bringing the liquor to the course 😄doesn't play anything close to that extra whippy stuff that I need. Out of curiosity what's in the set? Proj X 6.0's?
