The fairway is sick, but $500! Cmon Tour Edge...OMG!! This would have been a huge seller if it was in the $300 price range.
Not meant to be huge seller. Production costs are high. At this price point there are sufficient buyers to justify production. It is a niche market product and it performs as advertised.
Have you hit it? Seen trackman #s? Not hating but we've got post after post saying it performs with no actual performance information.

I'm blindly pulling the trigger, yes officially lost my mind. I really enjoy the added launch and versatility of higher lofted fairway woods and because I'm such a low spin player never seem to loose any distance regardless of loft so my setup will be 17.5*/661 stiff plus 1/2' to 42.5' which based on my feedback should place it in the D4 range. For me nothing is worse than a fairway wood head I can't feel and I worry at 42'/D2 that may be the case. If I get the chance to actually hit this unique club I will be sure to post a review. While the price is indeed painful the design is just too interesting to pass up...BB

Can't wait to hear how it goes. I was thinking about the 14.5 with the 757X.
funny, you would hit my setup straight up and I would hit yours on a low rope. Just goes to show how totally different each persons equipment needs can be regardless of talent level..BB

I may be in the minority but I like the smaller head size, it increases my ability to use it in marginal lies. These modern fairway woods are so freakishly long the added loft just increases the function of the club. Now if you are a high spin player then I get it obviously...BB

I was fortunate enough to hit the new CB Pro and the new Beta drive a few weeks ago with one of their tour reps. There is a reason why tour players put these clubs in their bags without being paid to do so. The quality and feel of Exotics are second to none.

Nice work. 17.5 though huh? I played a 17* all year and was thinking about going back to the 15.5. Is the head size much smaller? My xhot pro 17* head looks really small next to every other fairway.
That's been my weapon of choice in 13' as well, great all around stick and it's not going anywhere. I'm just on a constant mission when it comes to fairway woods, seems to be my HO of choice these days. At these prices however I'm certainly hoping my bucks stop here or tough luck and the Cally stays in the bag year two...BB

Hope it works for you BB.

Very very intrigued.
Thanks, it really is I agree. I'm the biggest sucker for unique concepts like the PRGR Egg, etc. Just seems refreshing to see clean but edgy designs.

These are now on my short list for 2014.

I'm looking for a high COR 3-wood to replace my 906f4.

The list is now: CB Pro, XCG7 Beta, and Adams XTD Ti. I'm just hoping that I can find a CB Pro demo to hit when the time comes. I'm sure the Adams will perform, but if the TEEs come close, they will be in the bag... so clean looking.

I have been wanting one of the 3 Woods but no way I am buying one without testing first. They are offering three lofts in the 3 wood, so I would need to hit it and determine what flight I prefer before dropping $500 on a stock fairway.
Not sure I'd call it a stock fairway-$225+ Fuji 757, $12 Iomic, $40 Stich Cover, all adds up to something a little different from stock.
I put the 17.5* in play today and couldn't be happier, thing is a cannon, looks sounds feels perfect. No slots, screws, notches, floating faces, adjustable hosels, or funky paint schemes needed with this one.. And the sole plate is a work of art I don't care if it works or not (it does) but its pretty cool to look at.
BTW...street price on these is $430-$469 or about what you'd pay for a SLDR TP or other with similar setup.

Went to PgaTSS and couldn't resist. My dr hasn't cleared me for full swings yet so I just hit some half shots. Nothing has gotten me to miss golf yet until this. Shaft/grip/head all feel awesome. My only question is if it comes in 13 so I can go 13/16.5. Well probably not cuz I'll go broke but 16.5 is definitely going in.

Got a chance to hit the XCG7 Beta driver last weekend. It was pretty interesting, and the most interesting thing about it for me was the forgiveness. I'd been hitting for an hour (and I'm too far into offseason mode) when the guy tossed the XCG7 Beta my way, and I had quite a few junky swings. The bad hits didn't lose much, if any, ball speed. I was suitably amazed.

I'll have to give it another go, when I'm a bit less wrung out.

Spin was decently low, lower than my Covert Performance, but again, the junky swing thing prevented me from getting a real good read.

It being under 45" (per specs on the TE site) is a nice touch.

Notice the spec on the cb pro fairways is 3* open. I think this reduces effective loft by about 1* so interested to see what it actually launches like
Closer to 2° reduction. The relationship is roughly .6° loft to 1° of face angle.

My spin rates were in the 2600 range, with the club set at 10.5°, some higher, some lower. I don't remember what they were when I had the club at a lower loft. I was launching it around 13°, as I remember it.

My Covert Performance was in the upper 2000s to low 3000s, in contrast.

I'll have to go hit it again and FPA a bit better...

Driver usage is driven by tee money. Tour Edge doesn't pay, the others do, TaylorMade particularly. Similar to how Titleist buys up the ball count.
