Looking for Game Improvement Iron with Minimal Offset

Want to play midsize to oversize irons but don't need a lot of offset. My consistent miss is left from face angle not path. My common issue is setting up with a slightly closed face. In my experience less offset helps set up square. I have had Apex but made a bad decision and sold them. Wouldn't mind them or something a bit larger. Any help is appreciated.

3 hdcp here. i have played macgregor mactec nvg2 mids for a number of years. keep trying to replace them with the latest greatest but always come back. they are oversize with not a lot of offset. they also are very long and forgiving. can be had for next to nothing i'm sure.

Look no further than the Vapor Speed!

The offset intentionally matched the PC, which is VERY low offset. And they look great at address! I'll be mixing the Pro, PC, and Speed in my set.

All three were intentionally designed to me mixed and matched.

Holy Cow that's exactly what I've been looking for. The Speed is what I wanted but was very unsure about offset.

What about going to a set that has progressive offset? Ping i-20 or i-25 would be a great choice. That's what I switched to and it's been great.

if you'd be willing to try something not off the rack, the Wishon 560MC fits the bill perfectly - midsize forged cavity back with less offset than pretty much any club on the market (while I don't have specs of every club on the market, I know that my brother's 560's have less offset than either my mizuno mp30 or my razr x mb). shockingly little offset for what I would consider a large clubhead.

I agree with the guys saying BS j40 DPC minimal offset, longer heel to toe, very forgiving.

[/quote]More than half the irons people suggested I fjnd hard to call GI irons by any criteria. Many just validate the irons THEY play which is the case in many various post replies.

Wishon sells a few different low offset irons. The 560's as previously mentioned, but there is also the 755 and 870. I recently built a set of 755's and they are large and forgiving. The sole is a low bounce design that many better players like too.

Sounds like you have settled on the Vapors but you might also consider the Maltby KE4 Tour irons as they were designed to fit the exact criteria you mentioned. If you don't build clubs yourself, you can have Golfworks assemble them (first-rate work) with your choice of shaft and grip. Cost will be around $50 a club depending on your choices. They also have KE4 Tour hybrids that flow well with the irons.

Callaway Apex irons are fantastic and have little offset. If you are willing to spend $1000+, don't buy anything without trying these first. I dont think the Titleist AP1 irons have much offset either.

That's the problem with these types of threads..for some, anything with a cavity is a GI club ( [size=3](debatable)[/size][size=4] and for others something in the AP1 range is considered a GI so practically every club in [/size]existence[size=4] gets recommended. BUT, I read the last 2 sentences of the original post and wonder how an AP2 or an X forged can be suggested.[/size]
