What the heck is a "no pocket" BB1 ?

This is hard to explain, but "no pocket" just means that, behind the face, starting from the topline down, the cavity is not recessed. You just go from the topline straight down to the flange. Look at the old Cameron TeI3 Newport, it's the same. Is there any sort of feel or performance difference? I doubt it. It's a very minor thing, and I don't really know why it's a selling point, but whatever.

New Instagram photos just put up! Looks really sick with the colors!

It looks even better in person. Each one looks a little different with the Texas Tea finish. Some are more "cashmere bronze" with hues of blue, others look a little more grey and blue. I will take pictures of mine later today. Mine is more blue with hints of grey. Feel is also softer than the standard BB1.

Awesome. Is the Texas Tea finish a standard from Betti, or just in the Limited and rare stuff? I don't mean in the OTR stuff, but could I order a custom BB0 with this finish? It looks great from the pictures.

I've always heard a no-cavity putter will feel softer than one with a cavity as there's more mass behind the sweet spot. Do you think that could be why this feels so soft?

Not sure about the finish. I will ask my fitter to see if they can find out:) I will also try to take pictures of some of the other one's they have too (if they have any left). Luckily, my fitter had more than one and I was fortunate enough to have first pick...

I think the feel is probably due to the combination of the no cavity and the mini honeycomb face. Definitely more muted than the standard honeycomb and IMO a touch firmer than the fly mill.

Aloha Gentlemen! Please let me introduce "Moana" :)

Here are more pictures of mine compared to the 2 others my fitter had. Each are a little different. My Moana is the blue-ish one on the left.

"Moana" is on the right.

Here she is compared to the 2015 BB1. You can see the "no cavity" and difference in the face milling.

Mahalo!

It matches my '80 shovel tank so I cannot stop myself from buying one. Also I love rounded top lines.

Will the tiki be on the website like the raw one ?

From my understanding, it is only available at select retailers and a limited offering. My fitter was unsure if it will be available on the website.

Thank you Sir! I tore it to the frame and rebuilt. I have no idea how many hours are in the bike but it's a lot. It took 18 months, finished one year ago. :good:

The fact it was rebuilt from the frame just makes it that much cooler. I really like the skull and tiki motif. Happy riding!

I would like to publicly thank Makaukane Bear for referring me to the same store that sold him his Tiki Bettinardi. I fell in love with this putter the second I saw it, and searched frantically for one at my usual golf connections. I was unable to locate one that way. I then PMd Makaukane Bear and he wrote back right away with his connection at Golf Exchange. Needless to say, my tiki is now on its way to Texas from Ohio, and I couldn't be happier!

Like the putter, hate the hex face… Need more fly mill and groove surface from Bertinardi

I'm not a big fan of the regular honeycomb myself. The micro honeycomb feels very different than the regular honeycomb tho.. Much softer IMO. If you haven't taken the micro for a run, you should give it a try.

^ I agree. Honestly, I think the Tiki is also softer than the Queen B series with the micro honeycomb. That could be down to putter shape and the "no cavity" - or my honeymoon phase. That being said, my fitter and another friend of mine think the Tiki is softer than the Queen B as well.

Personally, I prefer both the micro honeycomb and the FIT face over the fly mill. Two very different feelings but I like them both. Different strokes for different folks.
