If and when tiger plays again, at 40 and having had so many different swings, what is the swing DNA that he reverts to under pressure? Is it the pre butch junior swing, the Butch swing, the Haney swing, the Foley swing or the Como swing which is supposed to be his junior swing? Since his latest swing under Como is supposed to be modeled after his pre butch junior swing is he admitting that all the other changes were unnecessary and he should've stuck with that? Under the gun under immense pressure the body always reverts to what's comfortable and natural, for Tiger what is that? With so many different swings it seems like it would be so easy for an unwanted move from an old swing to creep in at the wrong time. I think the lesson is clear to the younger players that multiple massive rebuilds are not the way to go and a lot of these guys are sticking with the one instructor they've had forever (mcilroy, spieth, day).

Considering that Tiger, in spite of all his troubles, still has way more wins than anyone else, and I am talkin' way more, maybe changing one's swing every few years is not such a bad thing to do. Hard to argue with results and empirical evidence. I don't know, just throwin' poop on the wall seein' if it sticks.

His under pressure swing is to try and knock the white off the ball with all his might.

His rhythm and tempo are what seem to radically change on bad results.

 

He can win with any swing.

tiger seems to learn to swing under pressure having done so. The masters 05 was part of the learning curve . He didn't really falter under pressure from then until 2009. Once he does it once he gets better and better at it

 

I don't see tiger winning one more event or one major etc , he has always proved with every swing he is capable of going on runs

 

If he wins with this como woods swing he wil win 10 times plus. If he bags a major he will win multiple majors. That said he might not manage to get to one win, that is the hurdle that he and his swing need to pass, the rest will take care of itself

My gut feeling is that Tiger, in this case, is the outlier in that he was (is?) that good to be able to have that kind of success over multiple swings. I don't feel like many players would be able to pull that off ie, putting the time work that Tiger did. In fact I know many players didn't pull it off.

If he can chip and putt he'll be fine. It's the chipping yips that scare me about his return.
