Sorry if I gave that the impression I did the work; I used to do my own grips, the shop I live near is absolutely awesome, they build clubs for the local D1 University, thanks to WRX, ive learned a lot of about club building and equipment, I tell them exactly what I need and want, the shop executes to a T!

Id like to do my own work, quite frankly do not have the time and Id rather give them the business, they have a trackman and we test everything out. While I could save a few dollars here and there, all of my golf purchases I put through them if possible, they have a phenomenal team there and I like to support them.

SF 2.0 lcg, the legend lives!!! Strong eBay acquisition. Is it out of the running b/c of her age or the lack of forgiveness? I need to dust mine off and get it out on the course again soon.

Just got a new shaft for her, she's back in the stable, to be honest, the Speeder is low Spin than the Black Tie 80xx

Hit it the other day on the course, put the ball in some spaces the new sh*t hasn't reached! Will be a challenge for the M1

Why not an 8m3 XX in the abtp 8.5 to test against the sftp 2.0 8.5 ? Secretly hoping you do this so I know which head to get. Lol ! The sftp 2.0 is the only true high launch low spin head I've ever hit. I need to go back to one.

got the speeder 8.1 in the SFTP 2.0 LCG , its a monster

that looks fun

Performance and scores will tell, going to keep the 6.5 pxi close just in case the hypothesis doesn't pan out

Got some more practice time , shaft does what's it's exactly supposed to do off the deck, vs the 6.5 pxi, in my case it allowed me to to elevate the shot much easier off the deck, pxi was more difficult for me off the deck, off the tee the pxi might have a slight leg up, but I wanted to be able to use the 2i more than just for tee balls. Lasered an area of 240-250 , shots where carrying this area and had nice roll out , with range balls. On trackman launch was up 2* vs the pxi off the deck (my 2i is 19*)

Different swing / tempo for ad di 105 vs the pxi needed though - smoother for the ad di taking a little getting used too

Both shafts cpm in the 290-305 range @ 40"

Some minor changes and Major to the top end of the bag

  • M1 vs SFTP 2.0 LCG Battle - the SFTP just so hard to beat, great BS, per trackman SOLID 277-280 carry, 2200-2400 RPM fade(which is actually what I like to see off the driver shot wise) with the Speeder 8.1, SOOOOOOOOOOOOO consistent, 2800 what I would call miss hits and a loss of 20yds towards the toe. Played the SFTP combo on the course the other day, FANTSTIC performance - got me some places even the SLDR had put me in. Just got my M1, needs to be dialed in, only tested on trackman, got some great numbers, better BS and lower spin M1 about 1900-2100 RPM vs the SFTP LCG, Though I did have one sling pull on a shot with it vs the SFTP. Not course tested yet so it will come down to the USED Special, SFTP 2.0 LCG @ $250, vs the Federal Gov't expensive $500 driver and GD m9003x. I may need to shorten the M1 vs the SFTP, M1 is 45.25 ish, SFTP 44.75 ish - the M1 is 336 vs the sftp 346. both D6 - D5 sw - Going to be interesting which comes out on top.................. No More ABTP driver, though the sound and feel was phenomenal
  • Grips - Gone Tour Issue .580 zcords & Ribbed, on all but the wedges starting with the irons, love the durability of these, I really like the the TV BCT, but they last shorter than a new pair of my wife's shoes. http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/1295460-580-ribbed-or-round-zcords-tour-issue/ -- Though I do really like the the TV BCT's on the wedge, soft feel give me better touch on chipping IMOP. Might have to change those out more often but that's ok for a wedge. the TV BCT are still on my woods and 2i, Ill be changing those out I think for the .580 zcord.
  • 3w - jumped shipped on the ABTP 3w TI, by far one of the hottest heads Id ever had with, right up there with the Adams XTD, 2 gen Tour issue, damn thing went too far IMOP. R15 back in, for the only reason, sets up to my eye better for some reason.
  • 2i Continues to be a success with the AD DI 105x, super simple to hit, great wind club, maybe gave up some yards off the tee vs pxi 6.5, but waay better off the deck now. pxi 235 yds deck, 245 AD DI deck, though hitting off the tee, for me I have to Back off and slow my temp for the AD DI vs pxi.

Going with a TMB 2 iron myself instead of 5 wood this year. What's the reason for lost yards off the tee? Extra 10 off the deck and easier to elevate does sound good though. Haven't decided if I want to go heavy graphite or lighter steel yet.

What's the deal with the 9003?

tee ball I was getting about 149BS with the pxi off the tee, I'm about 148 with the AD DI off the tee per trackman, I don't think I have the tempo for the set up yet down. Ive hit 149 with it, but not consistently. Id 100% recommend the AD DI in the long iron, they set mine up at around 290 -300 CPM , which was about the same as the old pxi 6.5

as for the 9003, looking to build a combo like my RBZ S2 ad di 8x, little more modern slightly more forgiving. This thread got me into trying the m9003 with the M1, a WACE, wild @$$ club experiment. Got a Adila Tour Blue 75x to try a midlaunch shaft with the m1 also.

But this thread is what cost me $$$ http://www.golfwrx.c...te-design-9003/

One thing about the m9003, kinda like the ad di 8x, but tighter feeling, one of those shafts you can HAMMER on, but feels good?? If that makes zero sense

Great thread! dusting off my SF 2.0 LCG later this week thanks to you. Just an old dirty 70x rip alpha in there but plenty of very fond memories with that setup. Don't really want to go all blanco but feel like I'm leaving some yards on the table with the Titleist...

Very intrigued by the Tour Blue in the M1. I second your description of the m9003 having hit a version from a few years ago.

So I'm testing out a super stroke 1.0 flatso on the bettinardi

Practiced putting for about 2hrs last night to get used to it

Initial thoughts

5-6 ft in really helps with the confidence

Distance control on all putts is above average using the grip for my stroke

Makes setting up to the ball , very repeatable

I need to work on a few fundamentals vs being very handsy with my old stroke

I'm still a touch better at linger distances with the pingman

Question - how many times a year do you all get your lofts and lies checked?

I play on really hard ground, Im going to do at least twice a year - had a check done, my freakin 7i was 3 up or like 63 -64 and the others where off including the wedges. When purchased they where spot on spec, about a year ago.

I just tipped the 3i H5 3/8" as I was told that was the max you could tip it. Just an experiment. I wanted to see if I could play a driving iron style club as opposed to a hybrid as my irons are usually a strong part of my game and easier for me to control the flight. I wanted it as heavy and stiff as possible. Believe it or not, it still feels good and not too re-bar-ish. Don't get me wrong, it's still a stiff mutha, but not unmanageable.

Pretty content with the r15's in the bag now, 5w on a course that calls for it.

Slight edge to the M1 9003 combo and is in the bag , speeder 8.1 is a final contender with the M1, needs some more testing

And of course the the superfast LCG w/ the speeder 8.1 is right there also, the m1 has a slight forgiveness factor over the SFTP 2.0 LCG, a little bit flatter lie angle also and lower spin

I really like the M1, just wish it had a better sound on contact but great looking set up!

This coming from a guy that hotmelt's just about every driver he's possessed ; IMOP M1 is one of the better feeling heads they have had in a while, I think some of the lower MOI drivers they have offered on mis hits, sound / feel less than stellar because of the design vs their higher MOI brethren M1 , SLDR vs ABTP, Jet Speed, SFTP etc
