I got rid of my 3i around 2 years ago. I'm a low ball hitter and when the courses I play dry out, I can't hold many of the longer par 3s and par 5s on my 2nd shot. I currently use a 3H but they are hook machines for me, so it's a club in the bag that just sits there. I've been toying with the idea of testing a 7w, my question is for those of you that have went from the 3h to a 7w are you distances about the same? I go driver, 3w, and right now 3h, I hit my 3h(when I hit it good) around 235-240 so I looking for the same distance but a little higher trajectory.

YMMV. But I tend to hit the 7 wood a bit farther. To me it's the perfect gap filler between a 4 iron and 3 wood.

My 3h is "suppose" to be that gap filler between my 4i and 3w but I can't control it......looking at the 7w for that gap filler and if it goes a little further than my current 3h I'm ok with that.

R15 7 wood otherwise known as 5HL 21* is th best. I used to carry a 22* hybrid after my 4 iron. When I switched irons an shafts I started hitting my irons a lot further. 4iron started going 209 so I dumped the hybrid no longer necessary and put in a 7 wood. Great 220 club or more. Flight of a PW comes into this long par 3s and stops on a dime.

Yeah I posted in this thread earlier, but this V-steel 7 wood is really changing my game.

220 for smooth shots. I hit one from 224 on a Par 5 today. It landed on the front of the green and stayed on the dance floor. I can't do that with a hybrid or 4 iron...

I can muscle it out to 230 I also hit a pretty funny 195 cut with it today from behind some trees.

Its just such a versatile and confidence inspiring club.

My hybrids are very upset right now. Relegated to the backup back with no rescue in sight.

Y'all got me looking for a new 7 wood. I have an older one that I've taken out a few times, so I'm already fond of the higher lofted woods.

The only speedline super s 7 woods that I see on the bay are ladies clubs with the white and purple. Does anybody know if they make a black super s 7 wood? I'd like to match my new set.

I could get another type from the speedline series, but if I can find a super s I would prefer it.

About 10 years ago I had the opportunity to attend an American Express private clinic conducted by Tiger for about 20 golfers at the PGA Championship. He mainly focused on chipping, pitching, and approach shots with wedges, but also discussed his philosophy on bag composition. He said that his long range plan included putting a 5 wood in the bag after 40 and a 7 wood in the bag after 50.

It got me to thinking that if a pro like Tiger was at least considering such golfing heresies, maybe I should make it more of an actual plan. I immediately put a 5 wood in the bag and two years ago I put a 7 wood in as well. Those have proven to be good decisions. For a few years I chased the latest and greatest hybrids but finally realized that hybrids just don't really work for me and my swing.

Careful about Eldrick and Heresy...

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

No they don't. I guess they want the men to go to hybrids.Or buy a ladies and have the club head painted and change the shaft to your flex.

That's what I figured.

Maybe with a ladies flex I could swing easy and make it fly! But then I'd want to paint the head black, and screw up the speedline lettering...

Switched to X-hot 4W and 7W with Nunchuk shafts a few years ago and these are the favorite clubs in my bag. I really like the heavier shafts in my woods and these are super stable and reliable. I also have a 21 deg Hybrid that space nicely due to the length difference of almost 3 inches between the hybrid and the 7W. 39.25 inch 4H vs 42 inch 7W

Mid 50's and about 95-100mph on a driver.

I just picked up a Cobra Bio Cell 5-7 wood on eBay for cheap. Looking to replace the 3 wood with a 5 wood and won a auction for a price that i didn't think i would win. Really looking forward to trying the club out and being able to adjust the loft to fit what I am looking for. 3 wood off the deck has been nearly impossible for me to hit, so hopefully the added loft will help.

Stupid, stupid easy club to hit. Hard not to like it!
