I think it would be cool to discuss what the players are playing.

 

I just played a round with our current club champion who is also a division 1 NCAA player.

 

He had the following in his bag:

 

Titleist 913 d3 9.5 w/ diamana blue X flex

 

Taylormade Sldr 3 wood didn't see the shaft

 

Srixon driving iron

 

Titleist 714 CB 3-PW with s400's

 

Vokey 54 and 60

 

Odyssey 2 ball (I am pretty sure it was the white ice version)

Wow, it just hit me that most WRXers probably are the best golfers at the club they play at. Also they are the longest hitters with the stiffest shafts.

Our club pro gets some pretty solid deals on Titleist so a lot of guys, including the current champ (+2 hcp) are gaming pretty much top-bottom titleist bags. There is also another guy who I get out with outside of league quite a bit that gets whole sale on TM and Mizuno. Thanks to him, I see a lot more people gaming mizuno than I do at other courses.

im not in a club but i played with a dude who is the champ of his age bracket/division/whatever at his club and he was playing all titleist except a Cobra LTD Pro with a chrome shaft. He used TPX balls though.

Best player at my club is too busy accomodating all the hacker suck hangers on on the committee to be able to play with a pleb like me, but his bag has a lot of Titleist in it.

The best player at my club is a current challenge tour and former European tour player who plays ping top to bottom.

Our best player is a good friend of mine and he currently plays the Challenge Tour. Last time we played he had the following:

The Pings are worn out in the center. I've tried talking him into new clubs, but he won't bite. The Aeroburners were his latest purchase (he was hitting old Calloway big berthas before them). He's not a superstar, but consistently shoots par (usually better) on our home course.

and a Pro Platinum with rust all over it.

 

 

He was a plus handicap all through his 20's and 30's. He is in his early 50's now.
